"To: Jovial -- A Gap Period Between Pope Benedict & Petrus Romanus Is Unlikely"

In reply to your post at http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/feb2013/jovial215-3.htm I don't think that there will be much of
a gap period between Pope Benedict and Peter, the Roman (Petrus Romanus) because if you scroll down the right side of the article at  http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2276884/Pope-Benedict-shock-resignation-Pontiff-85-600-years-stand-longer-strength-carry-on.html it says, "The cardinals will meet in the Vatican's ornate Sistine Chapel and hold two voting rounds a day until they choose a new pope with a two-thirds majority. Another reform lets the cardinals opt for a simple majority vote if they have not succeeded in electing a pope after about two weeks of balloting."  If the the conclave begins the middle of March, then possibly a new Pope will be elected by Easter, 3/31/2013.
