Denise, these sound to me like the activities of a poltergeist (an unclean spirit).  They just do mischievous things.  Just a thought.  My own personal opinion is that God doesn’t speak to us that way.  I don’t know what you have to do to get rid of them, maybe anoint your house with oil.  Do you have any young people in your home?  I’ve read that they’re attracted to teenagers.

 

One time, I found a book under the mattress pad of my bed.  After sleeping on jagged edges for a few nights, I decided to check and see what the offending lumps were.  There was a book!  Believe me, I do not store books inside my bedding.  I looked in my bookcase, and sure enough, there was the space where that book was missing.  No one else in the house did it, that would be ridiculous.

 

I called the pastor of a spirit filled church (Assembly of God) and explained the situation.  His first question was, “Have you travelled to another country and brought anything home?”  My answer was, “No, but my daughter and son-in-law just returned from their honeymoon in Kenya, and brought me a carved gourd that I left in my dining room.”  This book episode occurred soon after their visit.  I remember coming home one afternoon, shortly after their visit, and had a strong feeling that someone had been in my house and was just looking around.  Nothing was amiss, but the feeling was strongest where that gourd was.  I anointed the house with oil, prayed for it to leave in the name of Jesus, and was never bothered again.  Evidently, it hitched a ride from Kenya to Seattle.
