Questions and a challenge: Thanks to Frank Moyer and Mike Curtis for your
gracious replies to my letter posted on FIVE DOVES on Feb 19th. I have
read wonderful posts from you both over the years. Concerning your
questions Mike: I don’t have your email, but am open to private
exchanges. A lot of your questions are answered on my website:
www.waragoodwarfare.com  But some brief responses: Yes, I was born again
during my three tours in Vietnam. I was an infantry leader of combat
Marines. One of my squad leaders earned a medal of honor. Like most born
again believers, at the start of that wonderful journey, after being
religious, I found I didn’t know much at all spiritually. The world, the
flesh, and the devil had worked me over for years before my real
conversion, and had strong holds in my life. I didn’t hear much practical
instruction in the clergy-laity system I was brought up in. Until the
Lord, Jesus Christ, in an open eyed vision, when I was 39, set me on
fire, I knew next to nothing about how to fight the enemy of our souls
supernaturally. I had been raised up going to church every Sunday, and
continued that practice as an adult. But I didn’t know anything about
fighting our supernatural enemies. I knew next to nothing about his
hidden grip on my life. But God is faithful to deal with us in our
ignorance, if our heart is pointed towards Him, and mine was. On false
teachers: We all have some false teachers in our lives, whom influence us
in our extended circle of family, friends and acquaintances, because of
our blind loyalty to those we have let inside our personal defenses. All
of them are deceived. Many mean well, but have no idea they are false
teachers believing what they say. All, who visit FIVE DOVES DAILY should
know that Satan’s seed attempts to infiltrate the church, Christian
websites and family circles. Yes, I read Thomas Kempis’ Imitation of
Christ thirty years ago. Very challenging! At that time I was a babe in
Christ. We all need the gift of discerning of spirits. We are toast in
this life without the Holy Ghost’s help and that is one of the critical
gifts in these end times. Satan does some of his most devilish work by
buttering us up in our innocent and pride. (And personal pride is one of
the last things we get victory over.)
