sorry - doesn't seem plausible, German/Scotch heritage or not. : >

Revelation 13:3
"And I saw one of his heads as it were WOUNDED to death; and his
deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast."

that word "wounded" =

Strong's 4969
sphazo {sfad'-zo}
a primary verb; TDNT - 7:925,1125; v AV - slay 8, kill 1, wound 1; 10
1) to slay, slaughter, butcher 2) to put to death by violence 3)
mortally wounded

a stroke simply doesn't fit the picture, nor does an operation on him
fit the picture either.

go here:

this shows you all the times that word occurs in the NT.

It is quite fascinating to me that the only other book, other than
Revelation, that the word is used in is:

1John 3:12
"Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and SLEW (Strong's 4969g)
his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were
evil, and his brother's righteous."

This is a violent word.

The world would probably never "wonder" after someone who had brain
surgery and recovered.

no, it looks like the first beast is violently killed, like Cain slew
Abel, then healed.
