"re: Snowpocalypse?"

Hi Rene,

It could have been, but it wasn't. It was vastly overrated. The official count for RI was 18". I think it was closer to 24", but, given the vagaries of drifting, it's hard to tell. My grandson's future in-laws in CT did receive an official 3 feet. They have to make the trek to the barn to feed the animals; they say the snow was shoulder deep on the way to the barn. The wind hit 80 mph on Cuttyhunk. It was clocked at 60 here. Nor'easters are a fact of life here. They're all vicious, and they can be worse than a hurricane. They all cause coastal flooding and waterfront damage. However, I remember storms in the 50's and 60's that put this one to shame. And, of course, there was the Blizzard of 78, of which whole books have been written.

I didn't lose power. I had intermittent outages and a lot of flickering, but the grid survived. Others were not so lucky, but as of Sunday power had been largely restored and we had been largely plowed out. I spent considerable time in prayer over this storm, not so much as for myself, but for the area. Thank you, Lord, you answered.

My dogs have mixed reactions. Galumphing and porpoising in the snow is fun, but they want their nice, dry, leafy ladies room in the woods. They put off the necessary until they're desperate, and then look at me with the, "This is all your fault." expression.

Today we have a nice, misting, snow eating rain. The stuff is diminishing in front of my eyes. This, of course, will mean overflowing watercourses and low lying flooding.

I wonder how many will pause in their endeavors to thank God for the minimal impact of this storm, for making of it a water blessing, recharging the depleted watersheds, instead of the disaster it could have been. I have.

Maranatha,

Bob

PS I am a rock hard Constitutionalist, I did not vote for "0", and I don't depend on politicians for help in anything.

"Snowpocalypse?"

The big Nor'easter slated to hit New England is being called the mother of all storms and snowpocalypse - etc. various other names as the East gears up for 3 or more feet of snowfall. Once again another pounding for all those liberal states who voted B.O. back in for another 4 years. Maybe this time, the politicians will do a better job of coming to their aid (better than Sandy - MAYBE!) It doesn't matter though, what happens to New England--- Whether it is hurricanes, snow storms, or earthquakes, they'll will never get the message! People who stick their finger in God's eye never seem to get a clue that all the things that befall them MIGHT be remotely related to their godlessness! Of course, there are a lot of
believers in the mix. The righteous sometimes suffer with the godless. However, if I lived up there among all those radical left liberals, I'd be more than inclined to think seriously about moving somewhere ELSE by now!
