"Answer to Jean
Stepnoski..."
Thanks for your nice comment,
Jean. No, I don't think I'm the one who wrote something on
the Last Supper years ago. I have made recent comments on
whether or not Jesus ate or drank, however. I think it was
a discussion on whether or not He took the vow of the Nazarite
before He died. But, that's another discussion.
What really fascinates me are sermons given by men in years past
who had not been affected by formal schools of theology. I
like to understand what they have taken from scripture directly
without being taught by other men. There should be very
little difference in what the Holy Spirit teaches between then
and now. What was true back then is still true because God
does not change. However, men change as culture
changes. Truth is what is most important to me! .
Israel, as a people, made so many mistakes in the OT and really
angered God. These are told to us to instruct the "Church"
what not to do after Jesus Christ confirmed the new covenant
with His blood (Gal.3:17). There are so many doctrines in
so many churches today, and not all of them can be true.
And what I want is the truth, and I seem to get more of this
from sermons from the past.
