Dear David and Gerlinda,
Because you posted on an international forum, open
for anyone to read, I feel it is necessary to openly
rebuke you with stern love for the posts you have made
regarding Joyce Meyer in particular. This is for the
benefit of young
readers (in the Lord) who would be persuaded to your
opinions. It is absolutely not appropriate for
anyone who claims the covenant relationship with Jesus to
attack another member of His body (especially those who
cannot defend themselves) with salacious,
unmerited attacks (I say unmerited as there are
those who have drawn back to perdition and preach "another
gospel". This is not Joyce Meyer, however). Thus influencing one of His
followers, who may have been saved, blessed or fed by the
one being attacked, to draw back. Consider what the
Word says;"hoever spreads
slander is a fool" (Proverbs 10:18).
Gerlinda, two sisters and one brother in Christ
gently rebuked you for openly attacking Joyce Meyer and
her ministry. Because your apology included
informational self-justification, you need to understand that what
you posted was inappropriate and unbiblical. In
fact, one of the articles you linked actually has a
retraction for several of the facts about Joyce Meyer
Ministries, and the dates in the article are seven years
old in some references. That shows a lack of
thoroughness and maturity, among other things. Dear
one, you need to adhere to the Word of the Lord: "Do
justly, love mercy and walk humbly with your
God" (Micah 6:8). The Lord says to not judge
another but to let the Lord judge and for us to judge
ourselves (many scriptures listed below). Not to
mention that many of your opinions about Joyce Meyer are
false (already addressed by another sister regarding women
in ministry). Joyce has blessed millions of people
in the world, traveling the globe lifting up the standard
of Jesus Christ and conquering the enemy by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of
her testimony.
David, consider this rebuke with the utmost of
love. Your hostile post demonstrated an ignorant,
unbiblical bias against those that the Lord has called to
feed His sheep via the media. Yes, some are called
"televangelists"; a term which has obtained a negative connotation due to
some grievous
mistakes made over the years. But to categorize most
televangelists
as satanists is immature and over-the-top. Did you
know that many Christians in countries that are hostile to
the gospel secretly watch via satellite
these ministers, as there are no local churches for them
to gather? Do you know that people who are confined
to hospitals, those in prison and even our soldiers
serving on foreign soil and Navy vessels consider it a
tremendous blessing to hear men and women of God teaching
and ministering via the television and internet?
Surely you can see that a sweeping generalization is not
appropriate.
Let's put to rest the long standing issue of
ministers, pastors and evangelists
traveling by private jet. If you have ever traveled
anywhere, certainly you would agree that it can be
difficult and time consuming. Now, imagine traveling
with an entourage
of people, promotional materials, bibles, computers, all
necessities for presenting the gospel wherever you are
going. Now add in the frustration of weather,
mechanical and security delays and you surely can
appreciate the need for OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS TO
TRAVEL IN RELATIVE PEACE TO DELIVER THE LIFE-GIVING,
YOKE BREAKING, POWER OF THE BLOOD OF JESUS GOSPEL.
Wouldn't you agree? Or does the Word say in vain: 18 “And you shall remember
the Lord your God, for it is
He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may
establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers,
as it is this day." (Deut. 8:18). The reason
we obtain wealth is to establish the covenant; that is,
to spread the gospel throughout the earth. As for
me, I cheer on my brothers and sisters in the Lord who
have been called and equipped to spread the good news
and am proud to see them travel in comfort. If
celebrities and politicians do, how much more
ambassadors for Christ?
Dear ones, use your
energy to boldly support your local pastors and
ministers. If you do not appreciate those on TV,
simply don't watch them! But do pray for your
spiritual leadership (DO NOT criticize, back bite
or rebel against your pastors or the leadership GOD has
put over you), tithe to your local church and
let the words of your mouth and the meditations of your
heart be pleasing unto the Lord (Psalm 19:14).
Psalm 7:8
"The LORD shall judge the peoples;
Judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, And
according to my integrity within me."
Psalm 96:13
"For He is coming, for He is
coming to judge the earth. He shall judge the world
with righteousness, And the peoples with His truth."
Psalm 135:14
"For the LORD will judge His
people, And He will have compassion on His servants."
Luke 6:37
“Judge not, and you shall not be
judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned.
Forgive, and you will be forgiven."
Romans 14:4
"Who are you to judge another’s
servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed,
he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him
stand."
