"Want
to be raptured? Take up your cross and follow"
I woke up the other night with the
the thought, Take up my cross and follow me.
This scripture popped into my head so I started praying about
it.
The next morning guess what scripture appeared in my yearly
bible.
Then I noticed the usual topics in the Doves site re who will be
raptured.
Some believe few, others believe anybody who as ever said the
prayer to ask Jesus into their life, the sinners prayer.
Now, if all that is required is the sinners prayer then why
would Jesus tell some one to pick up "Their Cross" and follow
him.
Why would he ask us to do that, if all that is required is to
say the sinners prayer?
Think about it, he is asking us to do something, and we all know
what it is and their is no escaping the reality of it.
Luke 8:34
Then, calling the crowd to join his disciples, he said
,
“If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your
selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me. If you
try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give
up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you
will save it. And what do you benefit if you gain the whole
world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than
your soul? If anyone is ashamed of me and my message in
these adulterous and sinful days, the Son of Man will be ashamed
of that person when he returns in the glory of his Father with
the holy angels.”
