"Re: Liz Tracy "Only Watchers Go - Really?""

You Said: A couple of weeks ago a missionary spoke at our church and I was extremely humbled. She spends every moment of every day of her life in the most remote, God forsaken anti-christian part of the world feeding and helping lost people come to know Jesus. She doesn't even have electricity, let alone a laptop with Internet access to Five Doves, etc. So technically she isn't "watching". She's far too busy serving. Will she really be left? Really?

My Response: If an individual is more occupied with "the work of theLord" than "the Lord of the work", then it seem to me

that there is something not right. It doesn't matter whether an individual serves in pluto, Jupiter, and Mars combined, I

believe in the end there has to be a balance to ensure that priorities are kept exactly where they belong. Our ultimate

calling is to become the bride of Christ. Being a sunday school teacher, a missionary, a pastor, etc, is okay. But it

should never take the place of our longing and anticipation to be united with our groom. Once we loose focus of

this, then we are clearly distracted. A bride to be will always long for and greatly anticipate her wedding day. no???

Then why would any missionary or clergy not anticipate enough to watch??? The comand to watch was given to all

not just to some. There will be no excuses for not watching! "What I say to you, I say to everyone: 'Watch!'" Mark 13:37

You Said: So I think we need to be careful when we start thinking we are part of some elite group who, just because we sit in our warm cozy homes drinking our Starbucks and reading Doves, etc. we will go while others who are out there doing so much more than I am for the Kingdom are left.

My Response: So i'm I to understand that those who support those missionaries financially are not laboring just

because they are not physically there to feel the heat??? I believe everyone has their part/role to play and

nobody's role should be underestimated just because they happen to be sitting in the recliner. The eye cannot

say to the ear, my role is more important than yours. They are both important in their own respective ways.
