Why Babylon the Great is "That Wicked Generation " Jesus rebuked

This article is not discriminatory nor prejudiced toward anyone. I believe that the bible holds key words that reveal some things, and we can play close attention and discern through the Spirit whom some prophecy is directed at. As these verses are listed, I will attempt to show how I believe they are revealing that Jerusalem will harbor that wicked generation and their supporters in the Great Tribulation, they will pursue and kill the saints, make a covenant with a satan possessed anti-Christ, and that all these events occurred shortly before and after the cross, as they will occur again in the future.

Ecc. 1 : 9- 10

⁹ The thing that hath been, it [is that] which shall be; and that which is done [is] that which shall be done: and [there is] no new [thing] under the sun.

¹⁰ Is there [any] thing whereof it may be said, See, this [is] new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us.

Prophecy has a way of having two or more applications in truth and/ or occurrence. We will see.

Acts 14 : 27-28

²⁷ For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled [them] in condemning [him].

²⁸ And though they found no cause of death [in him], yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain.

Now that Jesus has been crucified, the devil possessed rulers of the wicked generation that condemned Him will go after the saints in the great tribulation.This is dual application prophecy.

Rev. 12 : 13- 17

¹³ And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man [child].

¹⁴ And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

¹⁵ And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.

¹⁶ And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.

¹⁷ And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

We see that the wicked generation started then what they will continue in the Tribulation.

Acts 13 : 41, 50

⁴¹ Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.

⁵⁰ But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts.

Acts 7 :52-53

⁵² Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:

⁵³ Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept [it].

Acts 8 : 1¹ And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.

Acts 26 : 10-12

¹⁰ Which thing I also did in Jerusalem: and many of the saints did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I gave my voice against [them].

¹¹ And I punished them oft in every synagogue, and compelled [them] to blaspheme; and being exceedingly mad against them, I persecuted [them] even unto strange cities.

¹² Whereupon as I went to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests,

We see that Jesus told them no sign would be given to the wicked generation, save Jonah the Prophet. Jonah was three days and nights in the earth, then preached destruction of the CITY unless they repent.

Mt. 12 : 39-41

³⁹ But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:

⁴⁰ For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

⁴¹ The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas [is] here.

We see next that Jesus tells them ALL the blood of the Prophets and the righteous will be upon this wicked generation..remember this generation WILL NOT PASS AWAY till all these things be complete.

Rev. 16 : 6

⁶ For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.

Lu. 11 : 47-51

⁴⁷ Woe unto you! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.

⁴⁸ Truly ye bear witness that ye allow the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, and ye build their sepulchres.

⁴⁹ Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and [some] of them they shall slay and persecute:

⁵⁰ That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;

⁵¹ From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It SHALL BE REQUIRED OF THIS GENERATION.

Mt. 23 : 33-38

³³ [Ye] serpents, [ye] generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

³⁴ Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and [some] of them ye shall kill and crucify; and [some] of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute [them] from city to city:

³⁵ That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.

³⁶ Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.

³⁷ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, [thou] that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under [her] wings, and ye would not!

³⁸ Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.

The Lord will repay the wicked generation for His crucifixion, persecution and murder of prophets and Saints, in like manner.

Rev. 16: 19

¹⁹ And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

Rev. 14 : 19-20¹⁹ And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast [it] into the great winepress of the wrath of God.

²⁰ And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand [and] six hundred furlongs.

Heb.13 : 11-13

¹¹ For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.

¹² Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.

¹³ Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.

This next verse is concrete evidence of "this generation" applying to then AND/ OR in the tribulation.

Mt. 10 : 23²³ But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.

Amos 9 : 8-11⁸ Behold, the eyes of the Lord GOD [are] upon the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from off the face of the earth; saving that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob, saith the LORD.

⁹ For, lo, I will command, and I will sift the house of Israel among all nations, like as [corn] is sifted in a sieve, yet shall not the least grain fall upon the earth.

¹⁰ All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword, which say, The evil shall not overtake nor prevent us.

¹¹ In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:

We know that Sodom and surrounding cities were destroyed by fire and brimstone. Jerusalem is indisputably named as "spiritual" Sodom, and will share that fate.

Rev.14 : 8

⁸ And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

Israel has been forever implicated by The Lord of fornication with idols, other nations and partaking of the cup of devils by sin and unrighteousness.

Rev. 11 : 8

⁸ And their dead bodies [shall lie] in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

Jesus command of the disciples to preach to all nations starting in Jerusalem will be repeated in the tribulation after the rapture. This will enrage the wicked tribulation generation, and it starts again.

Lu. 24 : 47

⁴⁷ And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

You see next the warning to evacuate and not return into the city, just a Lot was warned to flee Sodom.

Lu. 21 : 16-23

¹⁶ And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and [some] of you shall they cause to be put to death.

¹⁷ And ye shall be hated of all [men] for my name's sake.

¹⁸ But there shall not an hair of your head perish.

¹⁹ In your patience possess ye your souls.

²⁰ And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

²¹ Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.

²² For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

²³ But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and WRATH UPON THIS PEOPLE.
