There are those who do not consider the book of Revelation to be in chronological order.

However, most people I have read or heard, do consider it to be chronological order

What about you, do you consider it chronological?

If so, then, very early on, in chapter 6, even the lost realize the following:

Revelation 6:15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

  16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

  17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Tribulation is Not the Wrath of God

The Great Tribulation is primarily the wrath of the antichrist system, the oppression of the global government, the persecution of the saints, and the rage of Satan.

The wrath of God comes later.

The Lamb, Jesus, begins opening the seals, and all those still in rebellion recognize that it is his wrath.

Once before, when he was angry with Israel, to bring judgment, he used the devil:

II Samuel 24:1 And again the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them to say, Go, number Israel and Judah.

I Chronicles 21:1 And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel.

Firstly, it was the LORD's wrath against Israel, and by comparing the two scriptures, it is seen that he used Satan to provoke David.

And when David did it, then the LORD sent a pestilence upon Israel.

So, it may be possible, that one of the ways that the LORD accomplishes his wrath, during the tribulation, is, again, to use the devil.

In that sense, the wrath of the devil actually accomplishes the wrath of God.
