"Wide Spread Surveillance in the U.S. Part 2"

Hello John and Doves,

In the first letter titled "Wide Spread Surveillance in the U.S.", I wrote about Palantir.

Remember President Trump's 20 point plan for Gaza?  Is AI being used to implement this plan - using AI companies Palantir and Dataminr (an AI platform for real-time event, threat and risk intelligence)?  This may be going on right now.

Palantir's Maven Smart System has been used for mass surveillance, immigration enforcement and by the Israeli military for targeting in Gaza.

In this article, the Maven Smart System (MSS) was assembled by Palantir for the US Department of Defense.  MSS is being integrated into the U.S. Air Force, the Marines, the Army.

Maven Smart System (Palantir/Peter Thiel):

Maven Smart System "pulls in data from multi-domain sensor feeds, packaging it into a common, searchable app for commanders and support groups."

"The trials concluded with the military confirming the AI's function to "accelerate decision advantage through the development of a resilient, data-driven and automated kill chain."

"The goal?  To see how the platform could reduce cognitive burden in a "Find, Fix, Track, Target, Engage and Assess" process, while showing how AI inputs and human decisions can work hand in hand."

This software is to help "warfighters to make faster decisions on which threats to engage first in active combat zones."

And in May, 2025, the U.S. Army spent $480M for the MSS.

And in this September 2025 article, the U.S. Marines have latched on to MSS also.

"Palantir can't be stopped.  On Wednesday, the defense and intelligence software giant with a $395 BILLION market cap won a contract to provide "all Marines - from tactical units within the Fleet Marine Fore to the Supporting Establishment - with access to Palantir's Maven Smart System.."

What is the Maven Smart System?:

Maven Smart System is a "cutting-edge tool that represents the future of military operations.  With its AI-driven approach to targeting and logistics, MSS offers unprecedented efficiency, flexibility and operational capability."  It will "ensure readiness and superiority in the modern battlefield."

It is the integration of AI and machine learning (ML) to "revolutionize targeting and logistics operations for the U.S. Army."  This is now actively deployed within US Central Command.

To do what took 2,000 soldiers in Operation Iraqi Freedom, will take 20 with MSS.

Targeting data can be processed in under a minute - commercial satellite imagery and algorithms identify and engage targets.

AI and ML can work together and "rapidly assess the battlespace, gather vast amounts of data and analyze it to identify and prioritize targets.  This system significantly reduces the time and manpower required for targeting operations."

It will be further tested in a U.S.-Japanese military exercise in 2026.

Maven Smart System – Missile Defense Advocacy Alliance

"What started as a computer vision tool is now deeply embedded in the way the U.S. Department of Defense makes decisions about targeting, drone strikes, and battlefield operations.  And it's not just spotting trucks - it's shaping who and what gets targeted, with increasing influence and little transparency."

Maven began as an Algorithmic Warfare Cross-Functional Team - to help analysts sift through massive volumes of drone surveillance footage.  The data coming in from drones and satellites was impossible to keep up with.  So Maven was developed to identify objects, track movement and flag potential threats in real time.  It's since moved on to "feeding into drone operations and real-time battlefield decision-making."  P

Palantir "offers a modular platform that connects real-time surveillance data with algorithmic detection and operational dashboards - allowing analysts and commanders to ingest, prioritize, and act on intelligence much faster than before."

"Maven is no longer experimental.  It's operational  - and expanding."

Maven now plays a "crucial role in what the military calls the "kill chain"."  "In practice, the AI doesn't just highlight the threats - its frames the battlefield....According to military insiders, the speed and scale of data ingestion mean Maven has become the first filter through which decisions flow."  Humans remain in the loop - BUT often after the AI has defined the loop's parameters."  These is such a thing as "automation bias".  And there is the 'AI Black Box Battlefield' - where a scenario occurs or a person is targeted that no one can fully explain - flawed outputs can lead to lethal mistakes.

Maven has been used in live operations in Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan..."to support kill decisions"...in many cases these decisions are made in seconds."

"Maven isn't launching the missile.  But it may be deciding where we look - and who we see as the enemy."

"Without clear auditing requirements, external oversight or ethical governance mechanisms, Project Maven isn't just tool.  It's an unaccountable actor in the most consequential decisions a state can make: who lives and who dies."

What Does MSS actually do?:

"Aggregates diverse data streams, including satellite imagery, drone feeds, radar, communications metadata, geolocation data and more."

"Machine learning (ML) can identify points of interest, from military vehicles to patterns of activity, allowing a few dozen soldiers to do the boring battlefield data analysis that hundreds or thousands used to do in ages past."

"Presents fused data and ML outputs to commanders and analysts on a straightforward user interface that supports the visualization of targeting options, logistics, personnel locations and whole lot more."

It "enables rapid sensor-to-shooter engagements through a fully digital workflow, leveraging automation and AI-driven tools for advanced target management."  Faster decision-making follows enhanced intelligence, targeting and battlespace awareness."

NATO also acquired MSS in April 2025.

Maven Smart System can "allow small teams of soldiers to strike up to 1,000 targets per hour."

Is Maven Smart System Being Used in Gaza?:

"A new report reveals how Palantir and Dataminr (an AI platform for real-time event, threat and risk intelligence) are embedded in the US-Israeli post-war plan for Gaza, using AI systems to shape security and civilian control."

Palantir and Dataminr have been "integrated into the newly established so-called Civil-Military Coordination Center - a US run operational hub in the southern occupied territories where Washington and Israeli occupation officials are coordinate the implementation of Trump's 20-point plan for Gaza.

A Maven Field Service representative from Palantir has been assigned to this Civil-Military Coordination Center.  This center is located about 20 km from Gaza's separation wall and houses some 200 US military personnel.  Project Maven is helping to "detect and flag targets automatically".

Project Maven "integrates intelligence from satellites, drones, spy planes, intercepted communications and online platforms into an AI-powered battlefield platform designed to accelerate decision-making, including airstrikes.  Palantir executives have described the system as "optimizing the kill chain" and it has previously been used in US attacks in Yemen, Syria and Iraq."  This AI helps "accelerate decisions about "who to target" with minimal human oversight."

This article wonders if the 'families, women, children, elderly, were killed in strikes guided by AI-based training systems.

Maven and Datminr "can map connections between civilians and militant groups, compile lists of those to be detained or killed in military operations and monitor the movement and communications of Palestinians en-masse.  Datminr was used in the U.S.by police departments to surveil protestors in BLM, Palestine, abortion, etc. protests that involved hot topics.
AI-powered surveillance firms are gunning for a share of Gaza spoils

The articles I found about Palantir and Dataminr in Gaza are about 'the genocide', 'the occupiers', etc.  Very anti-Israel and anti-Trump. IF this technology is indeed being used to remove terrorists, Hamas, etc in Gaza then good.  I suspect the articles of Maven in Gaza are true.  And it will be used to clean out Hamas and control the people as President Trump's 20 point plan is implemented.

Conclusion:

AI's integration into warfare is irreversible and growing exponentially.  There are advantages to this technology but AI could also lead to catastrophic failures.

It's easy to see how this AI-technology can be used for evil.

And in 'the wrong hands' it could be turned on the American people.  Your social media posts, your emails, your texts, your affiliations with various organizations, like your church membership, your spending habits, your financial status, your health records, could all put you on a list.  It's easy to see how someone like the AC could use this to get everyone either marked or executed.
