"65 years in Isaiah 7. Part 1."

John and Doves,

Isaiah 7:1 And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, went up toward Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it. 2 And it was told the house of David, saying, Syria is confederate with Ephraim. And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the wood are moved with the wind.

Rezin King of Syria, together with Pekah king of Israel, invaded Jerusalem. This event occurred around 736 BC. This prompted God to say this.

7 Thus saith the Lord GOD, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass. 8 For the head of Syria is Damascus, and the head of Damascus
is Rezin; and within threescore and five years shall Ephraim be broken, that it be not a people. 9 And the head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is Remaliah's son. If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established.

Through the prophet Isaiah, God said that after Syria confederated with Ephraim to invade Judah, 65 years later,  Ephraim would be broken, and there wouldn’t be a people living in Ephraim. After the invasion which took place around 736 BC, Syria was destroyed by Assyrian. In 722 BC, Israel saw their utter destruction. But according to God, when we subtract 65 years from 736 BC, Ephraim was supposed to be destroyed in 671 BC.  Concerning this 65 years, many bible scholars still try to figure out what these 65 years are. They could not find any biblical evidence that points to Israel/Ephraim was destroyed in 671 BC. Here's my thought. Syria confederates with Ephraim to attack Jerusalem. Besides it happened in Isaiah’s time, this event also happened during the 1967 Six Days war. Before the Six Days war, Ephraim was occupied by Jordanians. Ephraim is known as West Bank, and in 1948, United Nations gave that territory to Jordan. The 65 years points to 1967 Six Days war, when Syria confederated with Ephraim/West Bank/Jordanians to invade Judah. When we add 65 years to 1967, including the first and last year, 2031 is the year Ephraim/ Jordanians will be broken, that it be not a people. It is due to Jesus returning to Jerusalem.

“and within threescore and fives years shall Ephraim be broken, that it be not a people”
