The recent passing of Henry Kissinger reminds me of days long past when my college friends and I first read Revelation 13:18 and 666.

   The turbulent sixties had just passed.  We believed Great Tribulation was at the doors and that the Beast and False Prophet were living at that time.

    Who were they?  We tried to count the number of the Beast, the number of a man.  We numbered each letter of the alphabet, and then we applied those numbers to each letter of many possible names.

    We reasoned that God’s formula was perfect in its simplicity.

    “K-I-S-S-I-N-G-E-R” totaled 111.  “S-U-N M-O-O-N totaled 111.  Multiply by 6.  We were sure we had figured it out.

     We were wrong.
