One from an Orthodox view of Откровение (the Revelation), the other from the twelvers' view of ushering in the mahdi.

A highly volatile, extremely dangerous, combination, to say the least.

You had also mentioned Ahmadinejad.

I had just replied to Fay's recent letter about the Mufti, where I mentioned Ahmadinejab's 2005 two-steps to destroying Israel.

Maybe it's just me, but it looks like that Russian word for revelation may come from the same root as their word, открыть, "to open".

I would agree with that.

However, I would surmise that Obama not only get's it & understands it, but possibly has helped, at least the Iranian side of it.
