"RE: Chance: 12.17.23: Elijah"

Chance,
That was such a great, great letter!
You truly captured the despair of Elijah, and personalized it, so when we had read it, we too identified with the despair.
You showed that no matter what, and how much, the LORD did, it was never enough for the people to repent.
There are two edges to that, one, because our society today is running parallel to Israel under Ahab and Jezebel.
But the other edge is personal struggles with some sin, where we may more often lose the struggle, than we see victory.
Have we ever asked Jesus to take us, that it is enough?  Most likely, or at least aching for the blessed hope to come as soon as possible.
I like how you showed that Elijah was taken by surprise.
He was given the three tasks that you wrote about.
However, he only had accomplished the first one, when he was taken.
The other two tasks were completed in Elisha's ministry, after Elijah had been taken.
