THE DRAGON'S ASSAULT ON ISRAEL

Now when the dragon [that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan) saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male child. (Rev. 12:9, 13)

But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent. (Rev. 12:14)

So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, [Israel] that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth. (Rev. 12:15–16)

And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. (Rev. 12:17)

It is interesting that Hamas called their despicable and vile actions against the Jews and foreign residents in southern Israel on Simchat Torah, October 7, 2023, by the volatile name… Al Aqsa Flood! Thus, Hamas’ infamous attack—named after the Islamic Al Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem—was calculated to pour out a flood of hatred against the Jews and others enjoying the Supernova Music Festival in the Negev desert, and those waking up in the agricultural kibbutzim in western Israel to annihilation, and unconscionable acts of barbarism and savagery!

Was Hamas hoping that extensive support from the Muslim world would be stimulated by their pitiless brutality against helpless women and children? If so, it has not eventuated… yet! Or was Iran just letting Hamas ‘have a go’ to see where the world’s sympathy sits… before its next act?

BUT, even before that verse about a flood (invasion) being disgorged by the Dragon against Israel, we are told she is helped by two wings of a great eagle! (Are the US & UK, helpful wings of God?)

So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. (Rev.12:15) (Query: A flood of reprobation!)

Also of biblical interest, Israel’s powerful counter-attack was called Swords of Iron…

Arise and thresh O daughter of Zion; [Israel] for I will make your horn iron, and I will make your hooves bronze; you shall beat in pieces many peoples. (Micah 4:13a)

Note: It is no coincidence that the Hamas attacks against Israel occurred just when ‘Normalization talks’ with Saudi Arabia (viz., the Custodians of the Holy Mosques in Mecca and Medina), were due to take place after Rosh Hashanah (i.e., Israel’s New Year for Governmental Affairs), had passed on 1^st Tishrei, 5784, (September 16, 2023); just when a Saudi Delegation was about to visit the West Bank to discuss the matter.

There is no way that Hamas wants Israel to assume normalization with any Arab state!

There is only one way for a peaceable end to this worsening conflict, and that is FOR HAMAS TO SURRENDER AND RELEASE ALL THE HOSTAGES. After all, isn’t it meant to be Hamas’ responsibility to protect Palestinians from Israel? NOT for Palestinians to die, while protecting Hamas from Israel!
