(hurt not the sea?)

Revelation 7:1 And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.

  2 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,

  3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

(I can understand how the wind can hurt the earth, if it is a strong enough wind, and for sure be able to hurt the trees, but how does the wind hurt the sea?

I had wondered about that, but that was it, I only wondered.

So, I recently looked up what hurricanes can do to the sea.

Apparently they cause the warmer water on top to mix with the colder water below, which can hurt the sea life dramatically.

They also can cause strong currents as much as a few hundred feet below, which hurts the marine life and coral reefs.

Also, the intense rain rapidly reduces the salt content, and some creatures are killed by this.

Additionally, the O2 levels drop, also hurting the marine life.)

(Some years back I had a Cat 1 hurricane pass over, then a few years later a Cat 3 passed over, and I never made the connection about the four angels being told to not hurt the sea.

So, I'm glad that I finally decided to look at it a little deeper.)
