I forgot to address the issue of Judas going to his own place and the beast ascending out of the bottomless pit.

Again, I was taught exactly as you presented it.

So, continuing on with my question regarding the possibility of looking at these things as a partial fulfillment or prefiguring, I need to also address these things, as well.

As you pointed out, there was more to Judas:

John 6:70 Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?

Judas was not only a man, but somehow also a devil, and eventually, at the time of the last supper, he was then also possessed by Satan, for the main act of betraying Jesus.

Also, you pointed out that he had a unique destination:

Acts 1:25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.

So, the one possibility, as you indicated, that Judas the man/devil went to the bottomless pit, to come back up in the tribulation as the antichrist.

My question would be about the possibility that Judas did go to his own place, rather than the bottomless pit, similar to how the antichrist and false prophet are the first to go into the lake of fire.

So then, if that is the case, who, or what comes out of the bottomless pit?

If Judas prefigures the antichrist, the antichrist will also be a man/devil.

That can happen if whatever comes up out of the bottomless pit, is a fallen celestial being, and he enters, or becomes part of the antichrist.

There are locusts with stingers down there, and there is their king, the angel of the bottomless pit:

Revelation 9:11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.

What if this angelic being, or another angelic being already down there, comes up from the bottomless pit to become one with the man of sin, to become that Wicked, the man/devil, the antichrist?

Revelation 11:7 And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

Revelation 17:8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

The angelic being would then be he who was, is not, and yet is.

Also, he would most likely be one of seven fallen principalities, e.g. prince of Assyria, prince of Babylon, prince of Persia, prince of Grecia, etc.

Revelation 17:11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.

One possibility, then, would be the prince of Assyria, who, 2700 years ago, had power over the kings of Assyria, like when they took the northern kingdom captive, or failed in Judah in Hezekiah's day.

When, in the heavenlies, the prince of Babylon overthrew the power of the prince of Assyria, while on the earth, their armies also fought, with Babylon defeating Assyria.

If, at that time, the prince of Assyria was put into the bottomless pit, awaiting his time to return, in the tribulation.

That would help explain:

Micah 5:2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

  3 Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel.

  4 And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth.

  5 And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.

Clearly, in line 2, it is speaking about Jesus, and it looks like it is still speaking of Jesus in lines 4 and 5.

If that is so, then Jesus returns when the Assyrian comes into the land.

Since that cannot be speaking of the old testament coming of the Assyrian, as that was some 700 years before Jesus, Micah is speaking about when Jesus comes.

Also, it was Rome, there, at his first advent, so it must be in reference to his second advent.

That would allow for two possible explanations: one, that the antichrist will be ethnically Assyrian,  or two, that spiritually, he will be the man/devil with the prince of Assyria.

Then, like Judas, he presumably will have Satan enter him, for when he enters the temple to be worshipped as God, and when he is gathered with the kings of the earth to fight against the Lamb of God.

Anyway, I was wondering if this other possibility has any merit of maybe eventually happening, or is it tooooooo way out there?
