Thank you for your comments on Greg A and Donna Danna’s 5 December commentary.  I would like to add to your observations concerning Jesus’ limited ministry to the Gentiles.  In addition to the Canaanite woman (Matt. 15:21-28) and Roman Centurion (Matt 8:5-13), he did minister a third time with deep prophetic implications about the duration of the Church Age and His Second Advent.

 

In John 4 Jesus meets a Samaritan woman at Jacob’s well.  Jesus stayed with the Samaritans for two days. (John 4:40)  I believe His two days in the Samaritan village represents the Two Days (two thousand years) of the Church Age. 

 

Hosea also has a prophecy about Two Days implying 2,000 years. Hosea 6:2 states: “After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.  Prophetically, Hosea’s two days speaks to the second recovery of the Jewish nation (Isaiah 11:11; Ezekiel 20:34) after 2,000 years.  He states they will be revived (remnant Israel) and then raised up (resurrection) and shall live in His sight.  We see this resurrection (1 Cor. 15:24) of Jewish Tribulation saints in Revelation 20:4-5.  This speaks to the salvation of remnant Israel (Romans 9:25, 11:26) living in the Millennial Kingdom. 

 

Peter confirms this principal of divine time where he says: “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day”. (2 Peter 3:8)  The psalmist confirms this saying, “For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. (Psalm 90:4)

 

So, Jesus preached to Gentiles three times during His ministry.  Three Gentile ministry encounters represents divine perfection.
