The eternal cry of the Jewish soul.
Throughout Jewish history - this has been the cry. Next Year in Jerusalem. The Psalms are treated and revered as a temporary replacement for the Temple of God. Which is why the Psalms are repeated by believing Jews. In their prayers and their longings to have Almighty God live amongst them, once again. For all eternity. Gentiles have NO idea of the longing and confusion in the soul of a Jew. The longing is for something they KNOW to be tangible - real and solid. The confusion is for the state of Jerusalem today. The partial blinding of their eyes to the truth of Jesus has placed Israel into turmoil. Her land and her people.
Throughout Bible history - it has always been about the Jewish people. The land of Israel. Jerusalem. Our LORD Jesus is a Jew. Born and bred in the land of Israel.
Israel and her people are chosen by God to be a guide. ALL the stories in the Bible are centred around the land of Israel and the Jewish people. They are the beginning of the story of Almighty God's direct interaction with humans - and they will mark the end of the story. Yes - we Bible believing, born again Christians have been so very blessed. BUT - it is only because the truth emerged from Israel. From the Jewish people. From THE Jewish person...our LORD Jesus.
Let not one of us denigrate the people and land of Israel. To do so is an act of wilful ignorance. The act of a spoilt child who has no inkling of what it is like to be a Jew - having had their eyes partially blinded - yet yearning and longing for their Messiah. The Jewish believers ACHE for their Messiah. Just as we Christians do.
Our LORD Jesus will come back - to Jerusalem! Israel is where it all happens.
"Naked I came from my mother's womb and naked I will depart. The LORD has given and the LORD will take away; may the Name of the LORD be praised."
Job 1:21
"Why do Jews lay stones on their graves instead of flowers? Is it because of the host sounds of the Arabian desert? Where so many of them died on their journey - there were no flowers?
"Is it because there, where the soul wonders endlessly, flowers wilt, but the stones remain eternal?"
Above is just a mere touch of Jewish poetry. My word of advice to my fellow Christians... do not take any heed of the Jew haters. Or the so-called Christians who relish the blindness the Jewish people have been subjected to. Those Christians are majorly Biblically ignorant. It's such a shame. An embarrassment to all of us. May Almighty God forgive them.
