"The Unpardonable Sin, Matthew 12"

John and Doves,

While there is no direct
verse in the Bible with the phrase "unpardonable sin" in it, there are verses referring to sins that are unforgivable.
May we seek understanding of the unforgivable sin.

THE CONDITION
The way that I understand what is the sin that cannot be forgiven by Almighty God is a CONDITION, rather than a specific sin.
The condition that is unforgivable is the permanent closing of one's conscience to the still small voice within.

When one's human spirit plugs up all channels to his conscience so that the Holy Spirit can no longer reach one's heart to convict him or her of sin, then that one has turned a permanent deaf ear to the voice of the Holy Spirit.
That person has seared his conscience and has frozen any feelings of regret, remorse or repentance.
That person has willfully paralyzed his or her will to change.

Pastor Chuck Smith of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa always said,
"If you ask yourself if you have committed the unpardonable sin, then you haven't.
You still have a
conscience".

If one were to name the state of being in unforgiveness of sin, it would be called PRIDE,  calcified Pride...as when Satan rebelled against God.

THE SIN ITSELF
While that is the Condition of unforgiven sin, there is also a specific ACT of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, which is never forgiven.

Matthew 12: 31, 32
"All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men.

"But the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

"And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him.

"But whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven him, neither in  this world,
neither in the world to come."

Those who rebel against the Person of the Holy Ghost, attributing the Holy Spirit's gracious miracles to the lying wonders of Satan and his cohorts, shall never be forgiven.

The Holy Spirit is the essence of Holiness.
The devils are the essence of evil.
To equate the Person of Holiness with evil itself is a blasphemy that cannot be forgiven.

Our present world, and even more so in the future,
blasphemy will occur daily, and with vile contempt of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. These blasphemers are "brands (burning sticks) plucked out of the fire". Zechariah 3:2.

I would not want to be in their shoes as they face the Triune God in eternity.
