"Christmas poem, sort of"

John, It’s been a very long time since I’ve written poems. I am rusty! I wrote this today and am passing it along, for what it’s worth. Lori Fiechter

Thanks for sharing, Lori.
It's been a long time indeed!

This Time, no Manger: Phase 2
Zechariah 14:4, Romans 8: 21,22, Luke 1:32

He’s not coming back to a manger
And He’s not coming back to a cross
this time, He’s coming to a throne.
He’s not coming back to Bethlehem
As a helpless little babe
He’s coming to the Mount of Olives
and it will shake!

The first time, He came to die
to undo Adam’s sin
The next time, He’ll come to reign
And He will restore all things
“Peace on Earth” will be more than
just a Christmas card.
“Peace on Earth” will be reality
for a thousand years and more

One thousand years on David’s throne
The Kingdom finally come on earth!
The King we’ve waited for
the perfect Prince of Peace
the Lamb and Lion who is worthy
of our allegiance and our praise.
The Righteous One
Who will judge from Zion.

And what of us?

Are we like Simeon? like Anna?
Even the magi expected Him.
And what of us?
Are we looking for Him now?
Do we even know Who we’re looking for?

Look past the manger,
Look past the cross,
Look up!

Look past the manger,
Look past the cross,
Look up!

There is a Lamb who was slain,
And a Lion who will reign.
All creation groans in expectation
of their Creator.
Redemption is approaching
Feel the expectation in the air!

Look up!
