ALAS(ka) for the Day of the Lord is At Hand!!
Joel 1:15 ALAS for the day! for the day of the Lord is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.
On Friday 30 November 2018 there was a 7.0 earthquake near Anchorage in Alaska. Another sign from the Almighty!? Alaska became the 49th (7*7) State of the United States on 3 January 1959 (almost 60 years ago). There are 16 references to Alas in the KJV Bible, including 4 with double emphasis (Alas, Alas). One in Amos and three in Revelation 18, the chapter warning of the destruction of Mystery Babylon (in one hour).
There are (at least) two important links for Alas: first, forewarning that the Day of the Lord is near and, secondly, linking to Mystery Babylon. It is unusual that Alaska, which does not share a border with the United States, is part of it. Mystery Babylon is believed by many to be the United States. Judgment is falling on the United States, and more judgment appears imminent. I agree that the United States is the Mystery Babylon at present, although I believe that the final Babylon will be in the Middle East (the Land of Shinar!). I have highlighted six of the Alas references in the KJV (quoted below).

Jeremiah 30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.
Amos 5:16 Therefore the Lord, the God of hosts, the Lord, saith thus; Wailing shall be in all streets; and they shall say in all the highways, Alas! alas! and they shall call the husbandman to mourning, and such as are skilful of lamentation to wailing.
Revelation 18:10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
Revelation 18:16 And saying, Alas, alas that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!
Revelation 18:19 They cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.
It is also noteworthy that ASK is contained within Alaska. This opens a whole new panorama, but I wanted to draw attention to just one verse: Matthew 7:7
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Perhaps the Rapture Door to Heaven will open soon!!
