NO FLOOD

“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts.

And saying, Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

For this they are willing ignorant of, that by the Word of od the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in water:

Wherein the world that then was, bein overflowed with water, perished:

Byt the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same Word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.” 2 Peter 3:3-7

Introduction

Our readers know that I have been emphasizing a repetition of  “the days of Noah” for some time now, in a whole series of Bible Studies dealing with the subject. Most of these studies have been well received by those who are true believers.

Yet there are some who are so deceived by the various theories of fallen, unbelieving mankind that they cannot believe there ever was a flood that covered the entire earth. There are also some who choose to compromise, by claiming to believe that the flood was a local flood that covered just a certain area of the Middle East. But is this compromise what God’s Word actually says? Well…??

What this controversy proves is that fallen, unbelieving mankind would rather believe the theories of fallible men, than the literal statements of God’s infallible, inerrant inspired Word. Oh

1

yes! This also proves that the people who rail against the flood which occurred in “the days of Noah,” have never seriously studied the subject in the Word of God. I now invite our readers to join me for an enlightening study, and a study which I pray will be a blessing to God’s people, and to lost seeking souls. Let’s begin….

Rightly Dividing the Word

Whether some like it or not, 2 Timothy 2:15 is still in the Bible. There is no way to “rightly divide the Word” and ignore any of the Scriptures in the Word, which deal with a certain subject.

There are many Scriptures in God’s Word which speak about the creation of the heavens and the earth. Unless one has carefully studied every single reference to this subject, then they should be very careful about voicing an opinion on the subject, which contradicts God’s Word. Matthew 12:36-37 is also still in the Bible!

The First Account of Creation

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth, “ Genesis 1:1 (King James Version)

“And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters,” (Genesis 1:2. (King James Version)

I separated these two Scriptures, because they speak of two different events which occurred on two different occasions, separated by a vast amount of time. Whether some readers have ever realized this truth or not, by the grace of God, I have! Now with the Lord’s help, I will prove to our readers what I have just stated…

Examining Genesis 1:1

In the Hebrew text, this Scripture literally reads,

“In (a) beginning, Elohim created the heavens and the earth.”

Notice that in the Hebrew text, the word translated as “heaven” (singular) in the KJV, is actually plural in the Hebrew

-2-

text; “heavens.”

What follows is a series of notes on this very first Scripture in God’s Word, which some readers may or may not have already considered.

1.            It should be obvious to every reader that “the beginning” was not the beginning of God Almighty. Rather, the expression simply means that at some point in the far distant past, chosen by God Himself, “Elohim” (the Triune Godhead) began their work of creating the material universe. See John 1:1-3, Acts 15:18, and Acts 17:26.

2.            Genesis 1:1 stands alone in speaking of the Lord God’s creation of the heavens and the earth. The reason I am certain about this, is because of what other inspired Scriptures have to say about the creation. Other Scriptures make it quite clear that the earth was not created in the condition described in Genesis 1”2. Rather, when the Lord God created the earth, He created it as a beautiful place, ready for habitation right from the beginning. Proof: Gladly!

“He hath made every thing beautiful in His time…” Ecclesiastes 3:11.

There is nothing beautiful about the earth as it is described in Genesis 1:2. Rather it is seen in the Scripture as being in a state of “tohu waw bohu;” waste and desolation. The Lord God obviously did not create it in such a condition.

Verification of this truth is found in Isaiah 45:18 where the inspired Word explicitly states, “For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God Himself that formed the earth and made it; He hath established it, He created it not in vain, (tohu…waste) He formed it to be inhabited: (a habitable place) I am the Lord; and there is none else.” In this inspired Scripture, it is explicitly stated that the Lord God did not create the earth in a state of tohu; waste and desolation, as the

-3-

earth is described in Genesis 1:2.

In order to explain this away, some have jumped to the conclusion that the Lord was still in the process of creating the earth in 1:2, and at that time the earth was still formless and void. Yet Isaiah 45:18 quite explicitly states that the Lord God did not create the earth that way. Rather, the Lord God created it as a beautiful and habitable place at the very time it was created in Genesis 1:1. So….

3       A comparison of these two inspired Scriptures, Genesis 1:2 and Isaiah 45:18, should make it quite clear to anyone willing to deal honestly with God’s Word, that there was a space of time between the original creation in Genesis 1:1 and the ruined condition the earth had been brought to in 1:2. This is absolutely undeniable if one is going to take the Scriptures at face value for what is actually stated. Hello!

Now let’s carefully examine the second verse in Genesis.

A Glaring Mistranslation

“And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters,” Genesis 1:2.

The Hebrew word translated as “was” in this Scripture is a total mistranslation. The Hebrew word is “haya,” Strong’s No. 1961. This word is a common verb in the Hebrew language, and the careful reader to overthrow God Himself, and he persuaded one-third of the angels to follow him in rebellion against God, Ezekiel 28:15; Revelation 12:4. Of course, his rebellion led to a terrible war, which was fought in both the heavens and the earth, bringing the earth into the state of ruin and desolation, just as described in Genesis 1:2.

The evidence of such a war having occurred is on the planets in earth’s solar system right to this present day. Every planet in the solar system is covered with huge craters,

-4-

apparently caused by some type of bomb or perhaps a gigantic asteroid striking the planet. These gigantic craters are not the normal craters caused by volcanic activity. There are even such gigantic craters still in existence on the earth itself, however, the average person is not aware of the craters, because of the craters because on the earth they are now covered with trees and vegetation. But these gigantic craters are the result of the terrible war that raged between the angelic hosts during the interval of time between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2.

In this terrible war between the loyal angels of God and the one-third of the angels which followed the “anointed cherub (satan), the beautiful, habitable earth as originally created by the Lord God, was brought into a state of waste and desolation, exactly as described in Genesis 1:2.

Yet another result of the terrible was, which is commonly overlooked by many Bible students, is that God left the earth, which had been created to serve as His residence and capitol from which He would rule over the whole universe. He then prepared Himself a throne elsewhere in the heavens. Read it for yourself in Psalm 103:19.

Obviously, the “anointed cherub” and his forces lost the war, but he refused to repent of his wickedness, choosing rather to reign as a King over the one-third of the angels who had followed him. That satan does have his own kingdom, was verified by the Lord God Himself in Matthew 12:26. For whatever reason, the Lord God temporarily allowed satan to continue to live.

The Aftermath of the War

Genesis 1:2 is then describing the aftermath of the terrible war between God and the “anointed cherub,” also involving most or all of the angelic hosts. The earth is then described in this Scripture as having been brought into a state of total waste and desolation. The entire earth was covered by water;

-5-

very likely frozen water, and was in total darkness. At tat time, the earth was a dark, cold, frozen, uninhabitable, dead, wasteland of a planet.

But the Lord God was not satisfied with the earth being in that condition, and set about to restore it to life and to usefulness. “And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.” The Hebrew word translated as “moved” in this Scripture, literally means “brooded.” The word is similar to the Lord’s description of a hen gathering her chicks under her wings, in Matthew 23:37. A hen gathers her chicks under her wings to protect them, and bring forth new life. So the “Spirit of od moved upon the face of the waters” n Genesis 1:2, to bring forth new life out of the waste and desolation of the earth had been brought into by the rebellion of the “anointed cherub.” Glory to God! Praise the Lord! What a mighty God we believers serve!

Restoration and Creation

There are three words in the Hebrew text which are used over and over again in the first two chapters of Genesis to describe what the Lord did, beginning in Genesis 1:3. Following are these three words and their meanings…

1              barah….This word is translated as “create” over and over again in the Old Testament. It literally means, “to brin forth out of nothing; to create something where nothing previously existed.: The careful reader will notice that this word is used only 7 times in the first two chapters of Genesis.

2              asah….This word literally means to make something useful out of already pre-existing matter; to make, do, and bring completion out of matter already in existence.

3              Yatsar….This word means to mold, form, shape, fashion, sculpt, and give life to whatever has been made out of pre-existing material.

The words asah and yatsar are used repeatedly in the first two

-6-

chapters of Genesis, while the word barah is used only seven times. It is then glaringly obvious that the Lord God can take what others have ruined, and regard as worthless, and make something beautiful and useful out of it. This is what the Lord God did with the waste and desolation on Genesis 1:2. And He did it in just six 24 hour days, as recorded in the first two chapters of Genesis.

Since the Lord could do this with dead, lifeless, inanimate objects, just think what He can do with the soul and life of a man or woman who yields themselves to Him in childlike faith, Ephesians 2:8-10. Glory to God!

The Waters

I have pointed out that in this second verse in Genesis, the entire earth had been brought into a state of waste and desolation, completely covered by frozen water. It was a dead, lifeless planet and shrouded in total darkness. But….”the Spirit of God moved upon the fae of the waters.” Hallelujah!

Restoration….Day One

On the first day of restoration, the Lord God introduced “light” upon the whold chaotic scene. Light would also bring heat, thereby beginning the process of melting the waters upon the frozen earth. The “light” apparently came from the Lord Himself, because the sun was not even made until Dau Four, 1:4-5.

Restoration Day Two

On this second day of restoration, the Lord God placed “a firmament” in the heavens above the earth. The Hebrew word translated as “firmament,” literally means a space or expanse. Then the Lord God removed all of the excess water off the earth, and froze it in place above the “firmament.” 1:6-8.sh

This frozen water lifted into space could have taken the form of “ice rings” around the earth, even as we see on some

-7-

planets in the solar system today. Or, it could have become a frozen canopy surrounding the entire earth. Whichever form the Lord chose to use, the frozen waters suspended in space high above the earth, caused a “green house effect” on the surface of the earth. We are not in God’s Word how far up in space the frozen waters were located, but the result of then being suspended in space above the earth, caused a constant temperature to prevail over the whole earth. It also filtered out the harsh, harmful, ultra-violet rays of the Sun. This in turn caused the earth to have a very pure tropical or semi-tropical climate day and night. Keep in mind that there were no seasons on earth until after the flood in “the days of Noah,” Genesis 8:22. So for 1,656 years “from Adam to the flood) there were near perfect “green house” conditions on the whole earth, causing just the right climate and temperature for the regrowth of trees and vegetation, and for man, animals, and birds to live and thrive.

Also, there was no rain that fell upon the earth during those 1,656 years. Rather, the land surface of the earth was watered by what we today call sub soil irriagation. Moisture rose up from beneath the surface of the ground to provide the water needed for agriculture. See Genesis 2:5-6. With such a near perfect climate on the earth, it is no wonder that men before the flood lived to be hundreds of years old. Genesis 5.

How very wise is our Lord! Praise the Lord! Glory to God!

The Excess Water

There was obviously an excess amount of waters on the earth, following the terrible war and destruction of the original earth. Genesis 1:2 clearly indicate that the entire earth was covered by water. No land was above the water.

Dry land did not even appear until the third day of restoration, after the Lord God had placed the “firmament” in the heavens on the second day, and had suspended the excess

-8-

water above the “firmament,” Genesis 1:9-13.

Obviously, this was one reason the Lord God placed the “firmament” in the heavens above the earth; to remove the excess water from off the surface of the earth. So mankind on the earth during the first 1,656 years of human history experienced a near perfect climate, encouraging growth and productivity.

But is appears that such a blessing and prosperity upon mankind was just more than satan could stand, so….

What Happened Then?

The careful Bible student will see that satan introduced the wicked nephilim among mankind, men on the earth became exceedingly sinful and wicked, in a state of apostasy from God, with only the exception of Noah and his family, Genesis 6:5, 6:8-9.

Pre-flood mankind became so wicked that God determined to destroy mankind from off the earth. So the Lord God said to Noah, “And I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thin that is in the earth shall die.” Genesis 6:17

And again, the Lord God spoke to Noah, saying,

“For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.” Genesis 7:4

And the Lord God did exactly what He said He would do!

“And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.” Genesis 7:12

Are our readers aware that the Hebrew words translated as “flood” and “rain” could also have been translated as “delude?” The rain that the Lord God sent upon the earth was not simply a normal slow, gentle rain. Rather, during those

-9-

forty days and forty nights, the rain came crashing down upon the earth, without any let up. There is no question that such a rain resulted in great destruction and devastation.

“And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth, and all the high hills that were under the whole heaven were covered.

Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail: and the mountains were covered.” Genesis 7:19.

Right here is where those who do not want to believe God’s Word have a problem. “Impossible,” they say! “No way says  could there ever be enough water to cover the high mountains on the earth.” Oh, is that so? The last time I checked Matthew 19:26 was still in the Bible.

The inspired Word explicitly states that the waters rose upward as much as “fifteen cubits” above the highest mountains on earth. This amounts to twenty-two to thirty-three feet above the tops of the mountains, depending on whether one uses the normal cubit of 18 inches, or the sacred cubit of 25 inches as a measurement. Regardless of the cubit used, the waters went above the tops of the mountains.

God’s Word says it, and that settles it! Hebrews 6:18 is still in the Bible too!

However, God did not leave mankind without evidence of this truth. Men have been climbing mountains ever since shortly after the flood some 4300 years ago. And from time to time, right to this very day, mountain climbers have reported finding sea shells on and near the tops of high mountains all over the earth. Some of these sea shells have been carefully examined and determined to be shells from sea creatures wich normally dwell on the bottom of the very deepest parts of the seas and oceans. Nor, how did those se shells tet way up near the tops of high mountains all over the earth? Well….?

-10-

But Where Did All the Water Come From?

All of the water which came crashing down upon the earth during the flood came from the breakin up of the ice rings r canopy suspended in the heavens above the earth, as plainly recorded in Genesis 1:6-8. What god used to break up the ice rings or canopy is anyone’s guess. But He could have used a hue asteroid, a gigantic meteor, or even a wandering planet (similar to Planet X). Whatever the Lord God used, it crashed into the ice rings or canopy high above the earth, causing it to break up and as the pieces of ice fell they liquefied, relesing all of that excess water which came crashing back down upon the earth in a great deluge.

How much water fell? Enough to cause a deluge of rain upon the earth for forty days and forty nights. And then the waters remained upon the earth for another 150 days later before the tops of the mountains were seen. Genesis 8:3-5.

Every reader, willing to deal honestly with God’s Word, then knows that the flood in “the days of Noah,” really did occur, in spite of the denials of the “scoffers?” 2 Peter 3:3-7.

The More Sure Word of Prophecy

“We have also a more sure (certain; infallible) Word of prophecy; where unto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the say star arise in your hearts,” 2 Peter 1:19, Read also Romans 3:4.

But Where Did All the Water Go:

Keep in mind that this rain was all excess water which the Lord God had suspended n the sky high above the earth. It was more water than was needed on the earth to fill up the oceans and seas, and still have the right amount of dry land for the use of mankind. Unless something was done with all

-11-

of this excess water, much of the land area of the earth would once more be submerged beneath the seas. So what was to be done with all of the excess water?

Our wise and gracious Lord God had the answer to this question, before men even thought of asking it. Now pay close attention to what follows, and check it out in your own encyclopedia….

The earth itself is a round sphere, spinning on its axis in space at approximately 1,000 miles per hour. The spinning of the earth as such a speed causes what we call centrifugal force. If it were not for gravity, everything on the surface of the earth would gradually move to the center (middle) of the earth and pile up in a heap. It is  precisely because of gravity, that we who are living on the surface of the earth do not notice this. We are held in place by gravity.

But the waters on the earth do react to the centrifugal force. Any professional seaman or meteorologist can tell you that the ocean waters are deeper at the center of the ocean, due to piling up because of the spinning of the earth on its axis.

After the flood all of this excess water rushed to the center or middle of the earth’s surface, and piled up there, due to the centrifugal force caused by the rapid spinning of the earth. So now what was the Lord God going to do with it?

Simple for the Lord! The Lord God just suddenly and momentarily stopped the earth dead still from turning on it’s axis. This caused all the heaped up excess water to rush away from the center of the earth towards the top and bottom of the earth; the North and South poles were it was instantlu frozen. Then the Lord God caused the entire to resume spinning on it’s axis.

Today, some 4,000 years later, we can visibly see these “ice caps” which cover the North and South poles of the earth. All of this excess water is frozen in the ice caps of the

-12-

Arctic and Antarctic right to this very day. How such excess water” The meteorologists who study such things, tell us that there are places in these ice caps where the ice is three miles thick. Folks, that’s a lot of frozen water. There are literally mountains of ice on these ice caps at the North and South poles, rising high up into the sky. And the Lord God had a perfectly good reason for freezing all of this excess water. These ice caps serve….

1              as the Lord God’s temporary storage facilitates for the excess water, which He doesn’t need at the moment.

2              As the Lord’s means of controlling and regulating the climate and weather symptoms on the earth right to this present day.

3              As visible “witnesses” to the truth and accuracy of God’s Word. The Arctic ice-caps are a visible “witness” to mankind that there really was a flood which covered the entire earth, and that the Bible, God’s Holy Word, is absolutely true and accurate.

4              As visible “witnesses” to the power and wisdom and majesty of our real and true Living God.

The Lord God thinks of everything! Praise His Holy Name!

Conclusion

This is not where I want to stop!

The Lord God is not through using the excess waters in the ice caps of the Arctic and Antarctic yet. These ice caps at the North and South poles of the earth, yet have arole to play in fulfilling future prophecies in God’s Word. But I will reserve this for a future Bible Study if the Lord permits. This present study is long enough.
