WHO ARE THE STARS ?
Jesus said these words.
Matthew 24:21 “For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.”
If you have read the account in the Book of Josephus, you will see what a terrible holocaust it was. The Jews were finally banished from Jerusalem: there was no temple, anymore.
Matthew 24:29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:”
Of course, the Israelites had been taken to Babylon by Nebuchadnezzar and the temple destroyed, but this time they rejected their very own Messiah so he finally rejected them [as his nation] and the temple was destroyed and they were banished from Jerusalem where he had placed HIS NAME [God’s Peace].
But again, it was not all His people that rejected Him. There was a remnant that he filled with His Holy Spirit and commanded them to go into all the world and spread the Good News about Him and do His works by His Spirit. God was now inviting the Gentiles to receive Him and Paul was the first given that command.
Zech. 4:6 “This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.”
All of us now, no matter our genealogy, when we become believers in Jesus, we become adopted sons and daughters of this Promised Seed of Abraham.
John 1:10-12 “He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them he gave power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
And the Word [Emanuel] was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
God showed Abram his descendants as STARS. Jesus was the Promised Seed of Abraham [born of a virgin] and when he finally came only a remnant accepted Him as their Messiah. When Jesus died on the cross the heavens became dark as prophesied. There was an earthquake that opened the graves as prophesied. Many of the saints came out after Jesus arose and they all witnessed to their people along with Jesus as he witnessed to his disciples for 40 days and on the 50th day the Holy Spirit came down as tongues of fire and filled the 120 in the Upper Room there in Jerusalem where Jesus commanded them to go until they would receive POWER. It’s all in the BOOK.
Genesis 15:5 “And he brought him [Abram] forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.”
Genesis 12:2 “And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:”
Ezekiel 37:12 “Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.”
Matthew 27:52-53 “And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, and came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.”
Matthew 21:43 “Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.”
Joel 3:15-16 “The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining. The Lord also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the Lord will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.”
Isaiah 51:5 “My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth, and mine arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait upon me, and on mine arm shall they trust.
Second Coming
Isaiah 51:6 “Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.”
Rev. 1:7 “Behold, He cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindred of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so: Amen.”
2 Peter 3:10 “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.”
Malachi 4:1 “For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.”
Haggai 2:18-21 “Consider now from this day and upward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of the Lord's temple was laid, consider it. Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, hath not brought forth: from this day will I bless you.
