"A Rare Storm"
A Rare Storm
A major winter storm, described by Jerusalem's Mayor Barkat as "a rare
storm, the likes of which we have never seen", swept into Israel
yesterday, leaving tens of thousands with no power, with an even larger
storm on the way. Snow was falling across the mountains, and heavy rains
have created flooded roadways and school closings in lower elevations.
Roads are closed leading into Jerusalem and residents and visitors have
been asked to stay in their homes and check on the elderly and disabled.
Emergency services and responders have been activated to deal with
hundreds of abandoned cars, no public transportation, and road closures,
while groups that help the poor and homeless are ramping up their
efforts.

according to the Jerusalem Post, "Opposition leader Isaac Herzog (Labor)
said that the weather highlights the gaps in Israeli society.
"While many celebrate the snow on the Hermon, tens of thousands of
elderly, homeless and poor people cannot afford heating or even warm
blankets," Herzog said."
Please pray for provision, and protection for Israel. Every day Jewish
Voice is actively working with more than two dozen ministry partners in
Israel to help meet the needs of the Jewish People in the name and love
of Yeshua. They work with the poor, the hungry, the homeless, the
addicted and the needy‹not just during the winter but all year long.
Tonight as the winter cold descends on Jerusalem and other Jewish towns
and villages, your hand of love will be extended to the poor and needy
of Israel. Your heart of compassion will be there providing warm
blankets, food and other necessities. In all of this there will be a
consistent message to those we serve‹this care is provided the followers
of Yeshua who love you and bless you in His name.
Your contribution of support today makes it possible for us to continue
these vital outreaches. Our goal and prayer for the coming year is that
we will be able to do even more within the nation of Israel. But we can
only do that with your help.
As we approach Christmas, the celebration of God¹s great gift of His Son
to be the Savior of the world, it is only right that we do what we can
to give to others both the physical and spiritual help that they need.
Your support of Jewish Voice makes everything that we do to reach the
world with the Gospel of Yeshua possible. Thank you so much for being
part of this work. God bless you.
To the Jew first and also to the Nations,
Jonathan Bernis
