Dear Doves,
According to the prophet Zechariah in Chapter 8:18, Tevet 10 is one of 4 fast days which will become festivals of joy and celebration for the people of Judah. It is the last of the 4 noted by Zechariah in the Jewish Spiritual Year, it concludes the cycle of them. The earlier ones are for Tammuz 17, Av 9, and Yom Kippur. The fast from sunrise to sunset relates to mourning for the attacking of Jerusalem by the Babylonians under Nebuchadnezzar. Jerusalem fell in 586 B.C. and began the tragic 70 year captivity in Babylon.
This year, Tevet 10 will be on 12-13-2013, a Friday. On this day, some will fast and not marry or give in marriage. On this day, Gentiles (like those in the days of Noah) will marry, give in marriage, eat and drink, buy and sell, plant and build. The days of Lot included these activities, only the Messiah left out marrying and giving in marriage. Is this a clue? The days of Noah and the days of Lot were days when the many were IGNORANT of the perils before them ending in massive death. They "knew not" and were oblivious of grave dangers just before them.
One month earlier, from 11-13 to 14 was a test of the power grid of the U.S.A. When might the date of Tevet 10 become a day of a festival of joy and celebration for the people of Judah, rather than mourning? Might it be The Day of The Blessed Hope? It is traditional for a Jewish groom and bride to fast before going to the chuppah, the wedding canopy. Is the fast of Tevet 10 a clue to the approach of The Day, with fasting then marriage at the chuppah? Come quickly, Bridegroom of the Ages!
With Love and Shalom,
Jean
