"RE: Janie M: 12.20.13"

Janie,

I was so affected by your letter!

You asked,

How is Satan infiltrating all of this so easily?

I guess most of this have been guilty of this at some time or another, to some degree or another.

The example is Peter, first he speaks by the Father:

Matthew 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

Then only 6 lines later, he is speaking by the devil:

Matthew 16:22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.

23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

Same Peter, only a mere 6 lines apart, in one case speaking by the LORD, and then shortly after, speaking by Satan.

So who are we to think that we cannot err like Peter?

I imagine that Peter was shocked when Jesus said that, and even hurt.

How would we feel if the Holy Ghost let us know that today we were actually working for the enemy, rather than for the Savior?

We have to take heed, not only to what we say, but to what and how we hear.
