"RE: TH: 12.09.13: ever watchful?"

TH,
A few minutes ago, I read your letter, "Good Person":
http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/dec2013/th129-1.htm

I enjoy reading your perspective on things, btw.
This time, however, I thought about something, while reading, that I had not had thought about before.
You had written:

"Watching for HIS  RETURN to snatch away HIS READY

BRIDE (who's constant watching and spiritual preparedness is the result

of their KNOWING and LOVING HIM to the point of OBEYING HIM by

being EVER WATCHFUL and in CONTACT with the HOLY SPIRIT)"

Were even the 5 wise virgins, that still had oil in their lamps, ever watchful?
Were not all 10 virgins asleep?

Matthew 25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

That is what Peter, James, and John did, in the garden:

Matthew 26:37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.
40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?
41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
43 And he came and found them asleep again: for their eyes were heavy.

They were sleeping instead of watching:

I Thessalonians 5:6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

So, even the 5 wise virgins, that still have oil in their lamps, were asleep, like the 3 disciples, they were not watching.
Thank you,
Gino
