"Janie M "advice""

Janie,
In response to your letter on end times.

I respect the honesty of the question you posed. What I want to explain here  how I believe we are to come to truth.

1.  Begin with the Word of God, and Listen to the Holy Spirit as you are reading His Word. How does the Holy Spirit speak? He speaks by "leading" us, to receive this, we must "allow" ourselves to be led, and believe by faith what He is leading you to. For myself, Often a word or phrase jumps out at me while I am reading his word, which will lead my research. I often research without knowing where he is leading me to, but I follow His lead. Sometimes, I misinterpret what he is leading me to, and may err. Other times he leads me to an area of my life that needs "fixing", and I am confronted and corrected on this. And yet at other times He leads to a new revelation of truth. You must be receptive to any outcome, whether correction, revelation, or further questions.

2. Youtube videos, Websites, preachers, and evangelists are NOT the word of God. Though the Holy Spirit may use them as confirmations of the truths he is revealing to you. We are led by the Holy Spirit, not by men. We walk by faith, and not by sight.

3. Understand the distinction between a watchmen, and the self proclaimed prophet. Watchmen will sound the alarm at the slightest sign. The intent is to keep the church awake, and to lead to Godly repentance, and being ready at all times. Watchman are often scoffed for being "wrong", and are called false prophets. I believe the "Office of Prophet" no longer exists, (As do many theologians). The reason being, "We walk by faith and not by sight." The Prophets of Old gave messages which foretold events as signs to those who did not believe....Visual confirmation, such as Elijah having fire come down to earth. The Only exclusion to this is the Spirit of Elijah coming before the second coming, and the two witnesses who "Prophecy". But these are primarily sent to unbelieving Israel, and we will most likely not be aware of them. They will give visual confirmation and the Lord will rescue them despite their unbelief.

4. With the above understanding in mind, those who claim to be prophets are likely to be false, delusional, ignorant, or one of the three promised prophets of end times. In fact, we are promised many false prophets, and many false signs and wonders. I am always wary of those who claim to be prophets, less so of those who may have prophetic messages.....

5. Lest I be accused of being a naysayer, I do not discount that the Lord will use believers to send messages, or the "Prophetic word" to the church. This is the closest thing to prophets we have in the church. The Message of the prophet has and always will be to "repent". The Holy Spirit will often use these messengers to confirm what he is teaching. I can think of one Youtuber who puts a "loving word" from Jesus out everyday, I will post the link to the latest one at the bottom, who has on numerous occasions reiterated the words that I have just previously written, or added new insite to my understanding of what was revealed to me. These moments are a blessing, and are the closest we come to "seeing".

I Hope this helps? I want to close with the Word of God, since I alluded to many in my writing, yet referenced none.

26 Eight days later, his disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.” 27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.” 28 Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!” 29 Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” (John 20:26-29)

God Bless.
