"RON REESE and QUESTION"

Hello Ron Reese.

I am directing my question to you as I remember a previous post where you shared your faith at a dental office in Ann Arbor, Michigan

Recently I went to a Christian book store to pick up some items for family members for Christmas.  I picked up a book entitled: MY JOURNEY TO HEAVEN by Marvin Besteman (1934 - January 2012).  He had surgery at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor and states that on April 27 or 28, 2006, two angels entered his room and took him to heaven.  His bio states that he was a graduate of Calvin College, a veteran of the US Army, and a retired bank president.  Reluctant for a long time to share his story, he finally felt God was prodding him to share with people and so he did.

My question to you is:  Since you live in Ann Arbor, had you ever heard of this man or his story?

Note:  A number of things that I've read so far bother me....
  1. He says the angels "choose to carefully and gently unhook each and every tube" before taking off.  ???
  2. The gates were not "pearly."  ???
  3. The apostle, St. Peter, greeted him but could not find his name in the Books of Life so Peter had to go check with God.   ???
  4. Adults were of various ages.
Haven't read all the way through yet...may have to return if I find more.  I do love these stories of heaven, but lately the few I've read seem to veer into New Age and nonbiblical doctrine.   Thank you!
