Well said Paul! When the Bible says that we are saved by faith not by works, it also says faith without works is dead. It is the Old Testament carnal law which has been changed into something better, heavenly law. Jesus also said, If ye love me, keep my commandments. He said that we are also to be perfect (via repentance when we need to). So, we are expected to keep the laws/commandments of Jesus via his Word, whether its written or by the voice of his Spirit! Broken commandments have consequences.

I have been having problems with a family member who for a long time has been committing certain sins. This person expects forgiveness to be cheap (I am to forgive and forget more than seventy times seven) but isn't giving the same weight of gravity to the repentance aspect, and thus lacks some sincerity and conviction. Too many lukewarm people will be tested very soon.
