"Thanks For Redeeming Me"

I wrote this song sometime last year. It is true that NONE OF US will ever know what it cost to see our sins upon that cross!!! We can't even imagine in our hearts and minds what the Son of God, the HOLY one went through up there for us!  I shudder to think of those who mock and laugh at the cross and imagine that God will spare THEM when He did not even spare His own SON for them! I shudder to think of what their destiny will become!!!  This song came to me one afternoon. I believe from the Holy Spirit during a time when I was thinking about the crucifixion... Though I was thankful that God gave it to me, as I wrote it, I felt burdened, grieved... almost like I was just barely peering into that horrible fate that Jesus gladly accepted on the cross. We can't know - we can't imagine what he endured!!!  Please don't ever mock the cross. The CREATOR of the universe did that for YOU and for me! And he knew the future! HE knew AHEAD of time what it would COST him and He did it anyway!!!!  There is NO GREATER LOVE than what Jesus did for us! He is the KING of the UNIVERSE, the KING of CREATION - and he willingly went through that awful, horrible death to pay for our redemption. Even the angels were not redeemed, yet some people will still reject God and go to an eternity of horror without him!

TODAY is the day of salvation! Tomorrow may be too late. None of us know how many years, how many days, how many hours God has allotted for us! We all know that time is short!

Thanks for Redeeming Me!

No one will ever know all the darkness that you faced,

To bring your light of life to a dying human race,

No one will ever see all the tears that you cried,

Nor feel your depth of heartache-

As you bowed your head and died;

Who could ever drink the bitter gall you drank alone?

Or face the deepest dark abode where sin for me atoned?

No greater love can ever match the Blood of Calvary,

Or find the words to say, O’ God, THANKS for redeeming me!

You put my tears in a bottle, your own were like a flood,

You put my prayers in a censer; you sweat great drops of blood,

You took a crown of thorns; you were beaten, scourged, and tried,

To give to me a crown of life, you gladly bled and died!

Who could ever drink the bitter gall you drank alone?

Or face the deepest dark abode where sin for me atoned?

No greater love can ever match the Blood of Calvary,

Or find the words to say, O’ God, THANKS for redeeming me!

None can ever feel the deepest anguish that you bore,

Or plunge the depths of grief as you bared your very soul,

None can ever know the bitter agony you braved,

For sin’s dark stain you paid the price and faced the cruelest grave!

Who could ever drink the bitter gall you drank alone?

Or face the deepest dark abode where sin for me atoned?

No greater love can ever match the Blood of Calvary,

Or find the words to say, O’ God, THANKS for redeeming me!
