Charles, your post about the Star Trek movie is right on, and the comment about people seeing Jesus as a "cute little baby" when in reality he is coming back as a "fiery judge and king". This is SO true, because people can control a cute little baby. They don't have any power over a fierce king! It is amazing to me how the world has destroyed it's REAL HERO, the Lord Jesus Christ! The world has substituted jolly Santa Claus for the Christ who came back in the flesh to redeem mankind! Instead of pointing our children to the beloved Savior who created them and LOVES them, we point them, from the time they are toddlers, to Santa Claus, Batman, Superman, and Spiderman - make-believe heroes who have nothing to do with them! They feed on superhero comic books, video games, TV programs, costumes, and movies. These "heros" are on their PJs, their T-shirts, their lunch bags, book bags, dinner plates, bed sheets, book covers, blankets - you name it!These same children grow into adults, and when they find out that NO, there is no Santa Claus (mom and dad and grandma and grandpa just LIED to them all those years), and Santa is a BIG FANTASY figure, then they figure Jesus is all fantasy too and maybe mom and dad are lying about him and heaven and hell as well. JESUS is the real SUPERHERO that children should be reading about and imitating, NOT batman and robin, etc. We have allowed this world to dominate us and our children with fantasy creatures instead of teaching our kids to pray and trust and believe in the GREAT KING of the Universe who truly loves us, paid a great price for us, and is coming back again! I see all these ads for the stupid superhero movies (Spiderman, Batman, etc., etc.) and honestly, I just want to barf! Jesus says-- LOOK TO ME and BE SAVED, LOOK TO ME! And what do we do? We point our kids in the other direction and say - oh look, there's the newest Superman movie and the latest Batman comic - isn't that great? How sad this must make almighty God to have the world's children worshipping gods of this world who can never save them!Rene
