The FHA is another case study in how
government programs sold with the best intentions are
inevitably corrupted. FHA was founded in
1934 to help lower- to middle-income and first-time home
buyers obtain a mortgage, but its mission expanded over the
years as the housing lobby sought to channel ever more
taxpayer-guaranteed money into housing. When the agency
opened, its minimum down payment was a prudent 20%. In the
1960s, that number fell to 10%, and now it's 3.5%.
The other issue is accountability. As
government program after government program fails, no
one takes responsibility. Fannie and
Freddie hit taxpayers for $138 billion, the Post Office
loses $15.9 billion, and now the FHA is insolvent.
DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So.....with the best of intent, (or for
self-serving interests......at the expense of the
taxpayers and voters??) over the last 100
years....here are a few reasons we are in the current AND
FINAL MESS
1) The Federal Reserve
2) Social Secuirty Program
3) Going off the Gold Standard
4) EZ Money for housing in the 1990's and
early 2000's
5) BAILING out the Bad Bankers----and NOT
ONE GOES TO JAIL !!! UGH!!
6) The FHA.......FNMA, and GNMA....
Government controled and self-serving - LOTS of
FHA/FNMA/GNMA jobs were GIVEN OUT to ex-political
people. LOTS!! Ex, Rahm Emanual made someting
like $2million working for one of these entities before
becoming chief of staff for Obama. AND FNMA and GNMA
gave LOTS of money in campaign contributions to elected
officials..... and WE GOT SCREWED--you and me,
the taxpayers. And what??
NO ACCOUNTABILITY for the mess in Washington....EVER!!
7) Not ot mention, Loan guarantees to
companies like SOLYNDRA...... "even a 1st year MBA
student would NOT have made those loan
guanratees...." and Solyndra goes BANKRUPT in less
than 18 months after $500 Million os US Loan guarnatees...
THIS GET ME SO PISSED OFF......AND AGAIN
WHAT???
NO ACCOUNTABILITY.....NO
ONE LOST THEIR JOB OVER THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!
HEY....after $2 BILLION spent on just the
Presidential election.....let alone all the OTHER
elections for national office.....WHAT CHANGED?
DID ANYTHING CHANGE???
NOPE....Same president. The Senate
is still dominated by the Democrats and the House by the
Republicans. NOTHING CHANGED!
What's the definition of
INSANITY?
Doing the same thing over and over, and
expecting a different outcome.!!
We're in SO MUCH TROUBLE in this country!!
OK.....I'm on a RANT....sorry.....
But..... we have been so SCREWED by
the people who were supposed to represent US,
the United States Taxpayer,.....the U. S. Voter......THEIR
CONSTITUANT......
I am so tired of all of this...
I feel like I live in a 3rd wordl country
like Mexico.....but there, at least you KNOW
everybody in elected office is out for
themselves.....
Maybe I've just been naive???
Probably....
I'm just tired of it.
And......all the dominoes are ALL LINED UP
