Ecclesiastes was written by Solomon. It gives things from man's point of view, not God's. He was trying to see what he could search out by wisdom only. Don't be fooled by Ecclesiastes. The dead know what is going on. After reading about his folly, read his conclusion also. He changes his tune.

 

SOLOMON'S FOLLY

 

Ecc 1:13  I GAVE MY HEART TO SEEK AND SEARCH OUT BY WISDOM concerning all things that are done under heaven: this sore travail hath God given to the sons of man to be exercised therewith.

Ecc 1:14  I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit.

Ecc 1:15  That which is crooked cannot be made straight: and that which is wanting cannot be numbered.

Ecc 1:16  I COMMUNED WITH MY OWN HEART, saying, Lo, I am come to great estate, and have gotten more wisdom than all they that have been before me in Jerusalem: yea, my heart had great experience of wisdom and knowledge.

Ecc 1:18  For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow."

Ecc 2:3 I SOUGHT IN MINE HEART TO GIVE MYSELF UNTO WINE, YET ACQUAINTING MINE HEART WITH WISDOM; AND TO LAY HOLD ON FOLLY

Ecc 2:12 AND I TURNED MYSELF TO BEHOLD WISDOM, AND MADNESS, AND FOLLY: For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts

Ecc 3:19  For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that A MAN HATH NO PREEMINENCE ABOVE A BEAST: for all is vanity.

Ecc 3:20 ALL GO UNTO ONE PLACE; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.

Ecc 3:21  Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?

Ecc 4:5  The fool foldeth his hands together, and eateth his own flesh.

Ecc 5:15  As he came forth of his mother's womb, naked shall he return to go as he came, and shall take nothing of his labour, which he may carry away in his hand.

Ecc 6:6  Yea, though he live a thousand years twice told, yet hath he seen no good: do not all go to one place?

Ecc 7:3  Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better.

Ecc 7:7  Surely oppression maketh a wise man mad; and a gift destroyeth the heart.

Ecc 7:16  BE NOT RIGHTEOUS OVER MUCH; NEITHER MAKE THYSELF OVER WISE: why shouldest thou destroy thyself?

Ecc 7:25  I applied mine heart to know, and to search, and to seek out wisdom, and the reason of things, and to know the wickedness of folly, even of foolishness and madness:

Ecc 8:15  Then I commended mirth, because a MAN HATH NO BETTER THING UNDER THE SUN, THAN TO EAT, AND TO DRINK, AND TO BE MERRY: for that shall abide with him of his labour the days of his life, which God giveth him under the sun.

Ecc 9:10  Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

Ecc 10:19  A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but MONEY ANSWERETH ALL THINGS.

Ecc 12:12  And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.

 

SOLOMON'S CONCLUSION

 

Ecc 12:13  LET US HEAR THE CONCLUSION OF THE WHOLE MATTER: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

Ecc 12:14  For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil."

 

WHAT DID JESUS SAY?

 

Luk 12:46 "The lord of that servant (i.e., the evil servant) will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder (lit., cut him off), and will appoint him his portion (i.e., of the Tribulation) with the unbelievers."

 

Mat 24:48 "But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;

Mat 24:49  And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and DRINK WITH THE DRUNKEN;

Mat 24:50  THE LORD of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,

Mat 24:51  And SHALL CUT HIM ASUNDER (lit., cut him off), and appoint him his portion (i.e., of the Tribulation) with the hypocrites (i.e., pretenders): there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

 

1Ti_6:10   "THE LOVE OF MONEY IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL".

 

SAUL HAD THE WITCH OF ENDOR CALL UP SAMUEL FROM THE DEAD.

COULD SAMUEL ASCEND FROM THE DEAD, WEAR A MANTLE, THINK, WALK, TALK, PROPHESY?

 

1Sa 28:3  Samuel was dead, and all Israel had lamented him, and buried him in Ramah

 

1Sa 28:7  Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and enquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor.

1Sa 28:8  And Saul disguised himself, and put on other raiment, and he went, and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night: and he said, I pray thee, divine unto me by the familiar spirit, and bring me him up, whom I shall name unto thee.

1Sa 28:11 Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring up unto thee? And he said, Bring me up Samuel.

1Sa 28:12  And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice

1Sa 28:14  And he said unto her, What form is he of? And she said, AN OLD MAN COMETH UP; and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground, and bowed himself.

1Sa 28:15  And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do.

1Sa 28:16  Then said Samuel, Wherefore then dost thou ask of me, seeing the LORD is departed from thee, and is become thine enemy?

1Sa 28:17  And the LORD hath done to him, as he spake by me: for the LORD hath rent the kingdom out of thine hand, and given it to thy neighbour, even to David:

1Sa 28:18  Because thou obeyedst not the voice of the LORD, nor executedst his fierce wrath upon Amalek, therefore hath the LORD done this thing unto thee this day.

1Sa 28:19  Moreover the LORD will also deliver Israel with thee into the hand of the Philistines: and to morrow shalt thou and thy sons be with me: the LORD also shall deliver the host of Israel into the hand of the Philistines....

 

WHAT HAPPENED TO SAUL AND HIS SONS THE NEXT DAY?

 

1Sa 31:6 So Saul died, and his three sons, and his armourbearer, and all his men, that same day together."
