"As many as received him..."

Hello, John and Doves,

Let us put our full faith in the LORD to save whom He will.

It is written,
"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name:
"Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."  John 1:12-13

We need to remember that a person who is to be saved must receive Christ.  They are then born of God, not of their own volition.

Those who don't know God are under the law.  Of those, Jesus spoke these words before He went to the Cross:
"For he that is not against us is on our part."  Mark 9:40
"And Jesus said unto him, Forbid [him] not: for he that is not against us is for us."  Luke 9:50

And yet, speaking of the Kingdom of God, Jesus later said the following words.
"He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth."  Luke 11:23

In the face of such wisdom [of Jesus knowing men's hearts], we can see that only God can save.

Indeed, it is written,
  “ ‘...I, yes I, am the LORD,

and there is no other Savior.

       First I predicted your rescue,

then I saved you and proclaimed it to the world.

No foreign god has ever done this.

You are witnesses that I am the only God,’

says the LORD.”

From eternity to eternity I am God.

No one can snatch anyone out of my hand.

No one can undo what I have done.”

              Isaiah 43:11-13
