"RE:  Paul Wilson--"Would Appreciate some prayers""

Hello, John and Doves,

Brother Paul, if you don't mind reading "form letters," then here are three essays (as it were) about meeting attacks from the enemy with the Word of God.
_________________________________________________________________________________

Seeing that in these last few days that precede the rapture, the enemy will step up his assaults, in both number and intensity, let us first put on the full armor of God.

"...Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might."  Ephesians 6:10  NLT

[Please read Ephesians 6:10-18.]

As you go about the Lord's business, you will be under attack as regarding your qualifications for being on the LORD's team.  At that point, you must realize that even though you are dressed for battle, the battle is the LORD's.

"As all the men of Judah stood before the LORD with their little ones, wives, and children, the Spirit of the LORD came upon one of the men standing there.  His name was Jahaziel, son of Zechariah, son of Bernaiah, son of Jeiel, son of Mattaniah, a Levite who was a descendant of Asaph.  [Some psalms were written by Asaph.]

"He said, 'Listen all you people of Judah and Jerusalem!  Listen, King Jehoshaphat!  This is what the LORD says:  Do not be afraid!  Don't be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God's.  Tomorrow, march out against them.  You will find them coming up through the ascent of Ziz at the end of the valley that opens into the wilderness of Jeruel.

"But you will not even need to fight.  Take your positions; then stand still and watch the LORD's victory.  He is with you, O people of Judah and Jerusalem.  Do not be afraid or discouraged.  Go out against them tomorrow, for the LORD is with you."

2 Chronicles 20:13-17  NLT  [See also Deut. 11:24-32, Deut. 27:12-26, and Joshua 8:30-35]

"[The LORD, speaking to Joshua] Study this Book of Instruction [Torah] continually.  Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it.  Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.  This is my command--be strong and be courageous!  Do not be afraid or discouraged.  For the LORD your God [YHWH Elohim] is with you wherever you go."  Joshua 1:8-9

You say you can't fight, nor can you bring yourself to surrender.  It's okay, for the battle is the LORD's.  All you have to do is remain calm, and follow orders.

"As many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God."  Romans 8:14  KJV

Indeed,

"He gives power to the weak

                and strength to the powerless.

"Even youths will become weak and tired,

and young men will fall in exhaustion.

"But those who wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength.

They shall mount up with wings as eagles.

They shall run and not be weary.

They shall walk and not faint."  Isaiah 40:29-31

By making the joy of the LORD our strength [Nehemiah 8:10, Psalm 22:3], no matter what happens, we know we are in the center of the LORD's will.  It is written,

"All things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."  Romans 8:28  KJV

Indeed,

"What can we say about such wonderful things as these?  If God is for us, who can ever be against us?"  Romans 8:31

"And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love.  Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow--not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love.  No power in the sky above or in the earth below--indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord."  Romans 8:38-39

So, instead of pacing in endless worry, we can be still [2 Chron 20:17 and Psalm 46:10] and know that we know that we know that Jesus is LORD.  [Listen to "I know that I know that I know," sung by Stephanie Boosahda, NewPax, 1981.]  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBx-AzhQmoQ

An Outline of Biblical Book Mapping:

The Torah onto the First Five Chapters of Isaiah

Genesis key verse:

“ ‘…we were returning home, we stopped for the night and opened our sacks.  Then we discovered that each man’s money—the exact amount paid—was in the top of his sack!’ ”

Genesis 43:21

Concept:  We can bring nothing to the table, as far as salvation goes.  Jesus did it all.

New Testament tie-in:

“I have come that they might have life, and might have it more abundantly.”

                                  John 10:10

Joseph was a type of Jesus.  Despite Joseph’s initial gruff treatment of his brothers, they were desperate to get food for themselves, their brother Benjamin, and their father.  There was no other way.

Jesus says,

“I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.  No one comes to the Father but by me.”  John 14:6

Isaiah tie-in:

“Come, let us reason together, says the LORD.

Though your sins be scarlet, they shall become white as snow.

Though they be red as crimson, they shall become white as wool.”  Isaiah 1:18

Exodus key verse:

“Then the angel of God, who had been leading the people of Israel, moved to the rear of the camp.  The pillar of cloud also moved from the front and stood behind them.”  Exodus 14:19

Key Concept:  Jesus has your six.  [He watches your back.]

New Testament tie-in:

“What shall we say about these things?  If God is for us, who can ever be against us?”  Romans 8:31

Jesus says,

“He who comes to Me, I will in no wise cast out.”  John 6:37

Isaiah tie-in:

“The LORD will mediate between nations and will settle international disputes.

They will hammer their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks.

Nation will no longer fight against nation, nor train for war anymore.”  Isaiah 2:4

Leviticus key verse:

“So Moses gave the Israelites these instructions regarding the annual festivals of the LORD.”  Leviticus 23:44

Concept:  The LORD does everything on an appointed schedule.

New Testament tie-in:

“In the fullness of time, God sent His Son, born of a woman, subject to the Law.”  Galatians 4:4

Jesus says,

“I have come not to destroy the Law, but to fulfill the Law.”  Matthew 5:17

Isaiah tie-in:

“Tell the godly that all will be well for them.

They will enjoy the rich reward they have earned!

       But the wicked are doomed,

for they will get exactly what they deserve.”  Isaiah 3:10-11

Numbers key verse:

“These cities are for the protection of Israelites, foreigners living among you, and traveling merchants.  Anyone who accidentally kills someone may flee there for safety.”  Numbers 35:15

Concept:  Jesus’ blood is a covering, a protection from the eternal consequences of sin.

As long as we are "in Christ," we enjoy the forgiveness of sin.  We will always be "in Christ."  John 6:37 and John 10:27-30

New Testament tie-in:

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.”  Romans 6:23

Jesus says,

“ ‘I am the Resurrection and the Life.  He that comes to Me, though He were dead, yet shall he live.  He who lives and believes in Me will never die.  Do you believe this?’ ”  John 11:25-26

Isaiah tie-in:

“All who remain in Zion will be a holy people—those who survive the destruction of Jerusalem and are recorded among the living.”  Isaiah 4:3

This is a remez of the entire chapter 4 of Isaiah, actually.

Deuteronomy key verse:

“If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the world.  You will experience all these blessings if you obey the LORD your God.”  Deuteronomy 28:1-2

Concept:  Blessing follows obedience.

New Testament tie-in:

“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”  James 4:8

Jesus said,

“ ‘Unless I wash you, you won’t belong to me.’ ”  John 13:8b

Isaiah tie-in:

“The nation of Israel is the vineyard of the LORD of Heaven’s Armies.  The people of Judah are his pleasant garden.”  Isaiah 5:7a

Here is an implied end to the judgment on God’s rebellious people.  John 6:37 and John 10:27-30 are in effect here, for it is written,

“Thy Word, O LORD, is forever settled in Heaven.”  Psalm 119:89

Also, we read of:

“the Father of Lights, in Whom is no darkness, nor shadow of turning.”

James 1:17

Indeed, Jesus Christ is "the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow."  Hebrews 13:8

Biblical Mapping from the Last Seven

Books of the Bible onto Isaiah

1 Peter key verse:

“So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.  Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares for you.”  1 Peter 5:6-7

Concept:  Humility forms the foundation for blessing and honor.

Tanakh (Old Testament) tie-in:

“God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”  Proverbs 3:34

Jesus says:

“Destroy this temple, and in three days, I will lift it up.”  John 2:19

Isaiah tie-in:

“ ‘Foreigners will come to rebuild your towns.

And their kings will serve you.

For though I destroyed you in my anger,

I will now have mercy on you through my grace.”  Isaiah 60:10

2 Peter key verse:

“For we were not making up clever stories when we told you about the powerful coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.  We saw His majestic splendor with our own eyes when He received honor and glory from God the Father.  The voice from the majestic glory of God said to him, ‘This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.’  We ourselves heard that voice from heaven when we were with Him on the Holy Mountain.”

                                  2 Peter 1:16-18

Concept:  It is impossible to separate the truth of God from His majesty.

Tanakh (Old Testament) tie-in:

“The LORD went ahead of them.  He guided them during the day with a pillar of cloud, and He provided light at night with a pillar of fire.  This allowed them to travel by day or by night.  And the LORD did not remove the pillar of cloud or pillar of fire from its place in front of the people.”  Exodus 13:21-22

Confirmation from the Psalms:

“Who is the King of Glory?

              The LORD, strong and mighty;

the LORD, invincible in battle.”  Psalm 24:8

Jesus says:

“ ‘Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.  And be sure of this:  I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’ ”  Matthew 28:20

Isaiah tie-in [applying to Jesus Christ, then (v. 1-2a) and in the future (v. 2b):

“The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is upon me,

for the LORD has anointed me

to bring good news to the poor.

He has sent me to comfort the broken hearted

and to proclaim that the captives will be released

              and prisoners will be freed.

He has sent me to tell those who mourn

that the time of the LORD’s favor has come,

and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies.”  Isaiah 61:1-2

___________________________________________________________________________

1 John key verse:

“I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.  And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases Him.  And since we know He hears us whenever we make our requests, we also know that He will give us what we ask for.”  1 John 5:13-15

Concept:  Believers have “face” with God through Jesus, God’s Son.

Tanakh (Old Testament) tie-in [from Job’s sixth speech, a response to Bildad]:

“ ‘But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives,

and He will stand upon the earth at last.

And after my body has decayed,

yet in my body I will see God!

I will see Him for myself.

Yes, I will see Him with my own eyes.

I am overwhelmed at the thought!”  Job 19:25-27

Jesus says,

“I am the Good Shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me, just as my Father knows me and I know the Father.  So I sacrifice my life for the sheep.”

John 10:14-15

Isaiah tie-in:

      “O Jerusalem, I have posted watchmen on your walls;

they will pray day and night, continually.

Take no rest, all you who pray to the LORD.

Give the LORD no rest until He completes His work,

until He makes Jerusalem the pride of the earth.”  Isaiah 62:6-7

___________________________________________________________________________

2 John key verse:

“I say this because many deceivers have gone out into the world.  They deny that Jesus Christ came in a real body.  Such a person is a deceiver and an antichrist.”

                                  2 John 7

Concept:  Jesus is God come in the flesh, whereas the Antichrist is one dedicated to the flesh who wishes to elevate himself to godhood—and sell this lie to others.

Tanakh (Old Testament) tie-in:

      “ ‘...I, yes I, am the LORD,

and there is no other Savior.

       First I predicted your rescue,

then I saved you and proclaimed it to the world.

No foreign god has ever done this.

You are witnesses that I am the only God,’

says the LORD.”

From eternity to eternity I am God.

No one can snatch anyone out of my hand.

No one can undo what I have done.”

Isaiah 43:11-13  [see also John 10:27-30 and Isaiah 46:9-10]

Jesus says,

“For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform great signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God’s chosen ones.  See, I have warned you about this ahead of time.”  Matthew 25:24-25

Isaiah tie-in [2 John is the 63rd book of the Bible]:

“I will tell of the LORD’s unfailing love.

I will praise the LORD for all He has done.

I will rejoice in his great goodness to Israel,

which He has granted according to His mercy and love.”  Isaiah 63:7

___________________________________________________________________________

3 John key verse:

“For I hope to see you soon, and then we will talk face to face.”  3 John 14

Concept:  We are sojourners here on the earth.  Every day, we long to see with our eyes the One who dwells in our hearts.

Tanakh (Old Testament) tie-in:

1     “Who may worship in your sanctuary, LORD?

Who may enter your presence on your holy hill?

Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right,

speaking the truth from sincere hearts.

2       “Those who refuse to gossip

or harm their neighbors

or speak evil of their friends.

3       “Those who despise flagrant sinners,

and honor the faithful followers of the LORD,

and keep their promises even when it hurts.

4       “Those who lend money without charging interest,

and who cannot be bribed to lie about the innocent.

Such people will stand firm forever.”  Psalm 15

Jesus says,

“ ‘Father, I want these whom you have given me to be with me where I am.  Then they can see all the glory you gave me because you loved me even before the world began!’ ”  John 15:26

Isaiah tie-in:

“When you came down long ago,

              you did awesome deeds

              beyond our highest expectations.

And oh, how the mountains quaked!

       “For since the world began,

              no ear has heard,

and no eye has seen a God like you,

who works for those who wait for Him!”  Isaiah 64:3-4

___________________________________________________________________________

”Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into His glorious presence without a single fault.”  Jude 24

Concept:  God is Father to all believers.

Tanakh (Old Testament) tie-in:

      “I lay down and slept,

yet I woke up in safety,

for the LORD was watching over me.”  Psalm 3:5

Jesus says,

“ ‘I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life.  They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life.”  John 5:24

Isaiah tie-in:

“I will answer them before they even call to me.

While they are still talking about their needs,

I will go ahead and answer their prayers!”  Isaiah 65:24

___________________________________________________________________________

Revelation key verse (The Glorified Jesus Christ speaking):

“ ‘Look, I am coming soon, bringing my reward with me to repay all people according to their deeds.  I am the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”  Revelation 22:12

Concept:  The one and only Savior is soon coming to rule the whole earth.

Tanakh (Old Testament) tie-in:

“Once I was young, and now I am old.

Yet I have never seen the godly abandoned

or their children begging for bread....

“The LORD rescues the godly;

He is their fortress [Petra?] in times of trouble.

The LORD helps them,

rescuing them from the wicked.

He saves them,

and they find shelter [Tabernacles, 5776?] in Him.”  Psalm 37:25,39-40

Jesus says [to His faithful apostles, after the Resurrection],

“ ‘If you forgive anyone’s sins, they are forgiven.  If you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.’ ”  John 20:22

Isaiah tie-in [the Super-sign of the end of the age]:

“ ‘Before the birth pangs even begin,

Jerusalem gives birth to a son.

“ ‘Who has ever seen anything as strange as this?

Who ever heard of such a thing?

Has a nation ever been born in a single day?

Has a country ever come forth in a mere moment?

But by the time Jerusalem’s birth pangs begin,

              her children will be born.

“ ‘Would I ever bring this nation to the point of birth

and then not deliver it?’ asks the LORD.

‘No!  I would never keep this nation from being born,’

              says your God.”  Isaiah 66:7-9

Paul Wilson (17 Dec 2011)
"Would Appreciate some prayers"

Satan keep depressing me with thoughts I am not good enough to go in the rapture. I haven't done enough for God to be happy with me. That God will be very disappointed in me. I sure could use some prayer to help fight back against him. There is strength in numbers. It shouldn’t be too long till we are home.

Paul
