"Carol G "Jesus is the
Savior Not Us""
So true, Carol. I counseled a friend recently who
discovered her husband was cheating, and told her that if I
could do one thing differently if I went through that again, it
would be to let God be God, and to let Him tell me when to stop
talking. I knew the truth and could articulate it to my husband,
and did, but even when the Lord would prompt me to shut up,
often I didn't. I guess I felt like God wasn't getting it done
to my satisfaction and needed my help.
It's very freeing to realize that ultimately, although we have a
responsibility to be obedient to God's leading and to live the
life of Christ as a witness to others, God is the one who gives
the increase. He is the only one who can save. I wish I had
learned this earlier in my life and not felt as though so much
of it was up to me.
