I believe that Kislev 24 was the day the time of the gentiles ended, and now the focus will be on Israel. The church age has ended is another way I have heard this expressed. Anyway, an idea came to me and I thought I would see what all of you thought. Will the 144,000 build the third temple? In Zechariah 1:20 Then the Lord showed me four craftsmen. (21) And I said, "What are these coming to do?" So he said, These are the horns that scattered Judah, so that no one could lift up his head; but the craftsman are coming to terrify them, to cast out the horns of the nations that lifted up their horn against the land of Judah to scatter it. (I think this would be in reference to the 144,000)Zechariah 2:1 Then I raised my eyes and looked, and behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand. 2:2 So I said, Where are you going? And he said to me, "To measure Jerusalem, to see what is its width and what is its length. In Zechariah 1:16 "Therefore thus says the Lord: I am returning to Jerusalem with mercy; My house shall be built in it," says the Lord of hosts,"And a surveyors line shall be stretched out over Jerusalem."'Now in Zechariah 4:9 "The hands of Zerubbabel , Have laid the foundation of this temple; His hands shall also finish it. Then you will knowThat the Lord of hosts has sent Me to you.And in Zechariah 4:10 For who has despised the day of small things? For these seven rejoice to seeThe plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel. They are the eyes of the Lord, Which scan to and fro throughout the whole earth. On Kislev 24 the foundation of the temple was laid. Zerubbabel was governor of Jerusalem and Joshua was the high priest. They also represent the two olive trees in Zechariah, with Zerubbabel representing Christ's governing authority and Joshua representing Christ's priestly authority. My thought is that these verses are alluding to the fact that these 144,000 will build the temple when God glorifies them. They are the Zerubbabels and the Joshuas.Revelation 11:1 Then I was given a reed like a measuring rod. And the angel stood, saying, Rise and measure the temple of God, the altar, and those who worship there.11:2 "But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty- two months.11:3 "And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.11:4 These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands standing before the God of the earth. There seems to be a lot of references to measuring and surveying and use of the plummet stone. The witnesses are also part of the 144,000 and I believe the rest are sent out to witness to the world. Isaiah 43:10 "You are My witnesses," says the Lord, And My servant whom I have chosen, That you may know and believe Me, And understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, Nor shall there be after Me.The following verses seem to have a dual fulfillment, both at the time the second temple was built, and as a future fulfillment of the third temple, and once again who is involved, Zerubbael and Joshua. And here we are back in Haggai chapter 2.Hag 2:2 "Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people, saying:2:3 'Who is left among you who saw this temple in its former glory? And how do you see it now? In comparison with it, is this not in your eyes as nothing?2:4 'Yet now be strong, Zerubbabel,' says the Lord; 'and be strong, Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest; and be strong, all you people of the land,' says the Lord, 'and work; for I am with you,' says the Lord of hosts.2:5 'According to the word that I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt, so My Spirit remains among you; do not fear!'2:6 "For thus says the Lord of hosts; 'Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land;2:7 'and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,' says the Lord of hosts.2:8 'The silver is Mine and the gold is Mine,' says the Lord of hosts.2:9 'The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,' says the Lord of hosts. 'And in this place I will give peace,' says the Lord of hosts."All in all, it sounds to me that the 144,000 will build the temple and of course Zerubbabel will bring forth the capstone to it. I am not a polished presenter of these things, so go easy on me!!! I hope this is understandable.ybic,Doran
