"Voyage of the Dawn Treader"
This is a must see movie.
With so
many teaching moments, C. S. Lewis weaves a story that tells of the
miracle of our Salvation through the Messiah, and continues to unfold
the mystery of His timeline in each chapter of these 'fantasy'
adventures. If you are looking for the perfect gift for any child on
your Christmas list, get this book series and the movies made from them.
I was very impressed with the look and feel of this film, I think it was as good as, or better than the first.
I
went with my kids to the midnight showing, as our family loves the
hobby of 'cosplay', they dressed up. Keep in mind, my 'kids' are
all adults!! I didn't get a photo of all of them (my youngest daughter
dressed as a crewman from the Dawn Treader & 2 other friends wore
costumes similar to those seen in the trailers), and I made a
'Reepicheep' stuffed mouse to be this most valiant and worthy warrior
for Aslan and Narnia...a subject to his King, so worthy that he entered
Aslan's country without tasting death. *snuffle* Yes, I cried like a
baby, with my 22 yr old daughter gripping my hand, sobbing in kind. She
had not read the stories, so was very surprised by how well done it was.
The
story teaches us that God knows what we need even when we do not. There
is room for all at 'Aslan's table'. There will be temptations,
especially when one looks to God, good things still happen to good
people, but with God, all things are possible. Evil is in the world,
but blessedly, we are not OF this world. The world will tell us we are
fools, children who believe in fairy tales and that the unseen is the
unreal...that it does not exist. But the story teaches that even the
most hard hearted, the most vile, CAN change, but the complete
transformation, the total rebirth is only at the Hand of the King. We
can not do it 'on our own'.
It teaches us that no matter who you are, you are valued. No matter what you have done, you can come home.
Here
are pix of the photoshoot my oldest daughter did with her finace. I
made her complete outfit except the props, which she did. He did the
incredible leather work. They also made over his pants from a thrift
shop find, I made his shirt.
