What cataclysmic event would cause a world wide flood?
The
Book of Job describes the Earth as seen from space, and when we view
the side of the Earth opposite Jerusalem, all we see is the vast
Pacific Ocean with a circular horizon inscribed on the face of the
water at the boundary of sea and space.
Job 26:10 He drew a circular horizon on the face of the waters, At the boundary of light and darkness.
This
horizon is approximately the region known as the Pacific Ocean’s Ring
of Fire, characterized by explosive volcanoes, violent earthquakes, and
colossal Tsunamis. Recent scientific discoveries indicate this is the
location of a massive asteroid impact that would have caused a world
wide flood; the Earth is literally still reverberating from this
horrific event. The Hawaiian Hot Spot is the remnant of this horrendous
collision, and evidence of an impact so violent it virtually punched a
hole thru the earth’s crust. The asteroid was at least 20 miles wide
and traveling over 30,000 miles per hour. If the angle of impact was
from west to east it could have increased the earth’s rotation by one
and one quarter days per year, as indicated in the Book of Enoch. The
increase in spin and altered gravitational forces would also account
for a change in the duration of the month from 30.3 days, to 29.6 days,
reducing the length of a month by a little over 16 hours. The impact
would have generated tsunami waves several thousand feet tall that
would have swept around the globe inundating most of the habitable
earth’s surface. The caldera would vaporize billions of gallons of
water that condensed into super torrential rains world wide, and the
ejecta from the explosive impact would have rained down over the
Pacific Ocean vaporizing even more water. This could account for the
Bible saying the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the
windows of heaven were opened. Here is how the Book of Jasher describes
this event:
Jasher Chapter 6:11 And on that day, the Lord caused the
whole earth to shake, and the sun darkened, and the foundations of the
world raged, and the whole earth was moved violently, and the lightning
flashed, and the thunder roared, and all the fountains in the earth
were broken up, such as was not known to the inhabitants before; …
