VegaThe following study highlights how many earthquakes above 7.0 on the Richter Scale have occurred since January 1, 2026, and in general from 1900. There sure has been an uptick in the number of earthquakes that have been significant and terrifying as of this posting. As one who studies the End Times from a Biblical point of view, can earthquakes be indicative of the Biblical Birth Pangs that Jesus mentioned would be part of the signs just before His return? During Jesus’ Olivet Discourse when the Disciples asked, what would be the signs of His return, Jesus quailed the signs in the following manner.
The Olivet Discourse, found in Matthew 24 and Luke 11, outlines various signs. Specifically, that Nation, as in ‘Ethos’ or ethnicities will rise against each other. And that there will be wars, volcanoes, great earthquakes, famines, and pandemics in various places. Along with such occurrences, fearful sights and great signs from heaven would accompany them. Now, such catastrophes and signs have occurred before and after Jesus stated this. The alarm is that all the signs would be occurring at the same time. That has never been part of history until now. So, one is just specifically considering the earthquake patterns. Why?
Could the earthquake patterns presented insinuate a crescendo of sorts that will culminate with the Resurrection-Rapture event at some point? It is understood that this notion is suggested every year and with every increase in earthquake frequency. But consider the Resurrection-Rapture event is described in the Bible as being a sort of ‘birthing’ process. So, the following are statistics regarding Earth’s ‘Birth Pangs’ just for this year alone, so far. Dynamics of Disasters
Here is a bit of technical background. How are earthquakes measured? Seismic activity or the movement of the Earth’s Tectonic Plates are classified by what is called the Richter Scale. Earthquakes are measured by their amplitude waves that are then registered by seismographs. This logarithmic scale was developed by Dr. Charles Richter in 1935. He was an Engineer that worked for the California Institute of Technology or CalTech.
So, what causes earthquakes? They occur when topographical stress builds-up in the Earth's crust. This is due to the movement of the various Tectonic Plates that rub against each other throughout the globe. Earth's surface is divided into about 12 major plates and several smaller ones. When the stress exceeds the strength of the plate at specific pressure points that run on the various fault lines, the stress is released in the form of energy, i.e., earthquakes. The more stress, the more energy is released.
This pent-up seismic energy is emitted in waves that then shakes the ground. The countries that have been hit the most on planet Earth, as recorded since 1990 is China. Following is Indonesia, Iran, Japan, the USA, Turkey and the list goes on. The region that is highly active, more so than any other Tectonic Plate on the planet is called the Ring of Fire. The Ring of Fire is a Tectonic Belt around the edges of the Pacific Ocean. It accounts for about 75% of the world's active volcanoes and 90% of its earthquakes.
The largest earthquake, thus far in modern history ever recorded, since measurements have been taken is the one that occurred in Chile in 1960. It was a recorded 9.5 on the Richter Scale. There have been only 4 other 9.0 earthquakes since 1952, thus far. However, the deadliest earthquake on record was the one that hit Haiti in 2010. That earthquake took the lives of over 300,000 people, it was reported. It is recorded that since 1900, there has been a steady increase in the frequency and intensity of earthquakes on Earth.
As of 2025, it is nearly a 10-fold difference compared to the year 1900. So, how one links this alarming trend to Biblical inferences is how earthquakes are always associated with life-altering events. The Bible defines Birth-Pangs in a similar manner. The term ‘Birth-Pangs’ is used metaphorically in the Bible to describe intense suffering or distress that precedes a significant event or energy transformation. Thus, Birth-Pangs are often associated with the End Times, the Rapture and the 2nd coming of Jesus. Many Christians believe that the Church Age has been running in tandem with this earthquake pattern since 32 AD. Is the ‘birth’ of the Bride of Christ what will be the ‘eruption?’The concept of Birth-Pangs in the Bible underscores the idea that suffering and tribulation are often precursors to divine intervention and renewal. It reflects the Biblical theme that a new life and transformation is about to occur because of intense suffering or tribulation. This birthing metaphor is as a gestation period, ‘Until Christ be formed in you’. It is a phrase from Galatians 4:19, where the Apostle Paul expressed his deep concern and labor for the spiritual growth of the Galatians. He, like a midwife, indicated that he was in anguish until the character of Christ was fully embodied in them.
Earth GroaningThis spiritual birth reflects the goal of the Followers of Jesus to reach maturity and sanctification. This is the theological notion wherein Believers in Jesus are shaped to be more like Jesus, etc. Thus, it is a human gestation process wherein, the end or outcome is a birth. It is about a maturing process, much like the development of a fetus, etc. In the context of the corporate Body of Christ, it is about the Bride of Christ being made ready. And it has been through friction, stress and suffering, much like a pregnancy that will ultimately culminate in the Resurrection-Rapture event.This is what will end the Church Age. And in turn, that is what will lead into the coming time of Jacob’s Trouble or the 7-yeaer Tribulation Period. This will be the 1 hour denoted by the time where the world, Israel and Lucifer will be judged in tandem. The Bible mentions several earthquakes where, spiritually speaking, there was stress, pain, suffering and then a breakthrough, a birth, a new beginning from thereon out. Consider the earth-shaking prophetic milestones of what occurred in Biblical history._____________________
EXODUS
In Exodus 19:18, an earthquake accompanied the giving of the Ten Commandments. As Jehovah came down Mount Sinai in Arabia, the earth trembled. It was so terrible that the Israelites feared they would die.ELIJAH
After the victory of Baal's false prophets, Elijah, in his depression, fled to Mount Sinai. He hid in a cave. Jehovah attempted to reason with Elijah. Jehovah displayed His potency through an earthquake as described in 1 Kings 19:11-12. But Jehovah revealed His presence through a gentle whisper that follows it. This illustrates that Jehovah GOD knows how to communicate with us.GARDEN TOMB
Then there was the earthquake that occurred at the Garden Tomb after Jesus’ crucifixion as described in the Gospel of Matthew. It is where an Angel of Jehovah descended from Heaven, rolled back the stone, and sat on it. This event insinuates that when Jesus rose from the dead, He materialized right through the sealed tomb and went past the Roman Guards, undetected. This is because the Glorified Body that Jesus now has and will be bestowed on all those that follow Him, at the Resurrection-Rapture event will be inter-dimensional.
TRIBULATION PERIODThen in Revelation 6:12, an earthquake will be directly associated when there will be a Total Solar Eclipse and when there will be a Blood Moon and the Stars fall to the Earth. Thereafter, in Revelation 16:18, an earthquake will be so catastrophic that it will be the most profound ever experienced on this side of Noah’s Flood. It will be so massive that one conjectures that it will be due to a global Earth Pole Shift. The earthquake that it will produce will be so severe that all the major world cities will be leveled, all at once. One’s working theory is that this Pole Shift.
Perturbation of Earth
One conjectures that the coming worldwide and unprecedented earthquake during the Tribulation Period will be caused by the perturbations being emitted from the flyby of Planet X. As it is, this astronomical phenomenon is what can only produce a Total Solar Eclipse and then a Total Lunar Eclipse within a 24-hour period. This is what exactly occurred during the Crucifixion, in one’s estimation. But the greatest single earthquake recorded occurred when Jesus died on the Cross of Calvary. This site is believed by some to be just outside what is now the location of the Damascus Gate.
It is the place of the Skull, at the entrance of Jeremiah’s Grotto, etc. This singular earthquake marked the death of the Son of GOD, in the flesh, the promised Jewish Messiah. Then based on the theory of the late Ron Wyatt, he is convinced that the earthquake also served to rupture the fissure that allowed the blood of Jesus to trickle down the crevasse and drape the Ark of the Covenants Mercy Seat. It was the exact place where the High Priest would sprinkle the blood of the slain lamb, etc.The earthquake at the Cross of Calvary, also served to tear the Veil in the Temple. Theologically, it signaled that the New Covenant was enacted and now there was no wall or curtain of separation between mankind and Jehovah Creator. This is according to the teaching as written in Ephesian 2:14 and in Hebrews 4:16. Also, what the earthquake also miraculously affected was how it is also recorded that the tombs of many dead people opened.Many then rose from their tombs and presented themselves to the people of Jerusalem. This is recorded in Matthew 27:53. So, this is why some End Times students of Biblical Prophecy compare the language of Bible Birth-Pangs to that of the Rapture. And from the book of Romans, it also does infer how even Creation, as in the Earth, is groaning, i.e., ‘earth-quaking’ for the birth of the Sons of GOD, that is.Romans 8:22-24We know that the whole Creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the First Fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to Sonship, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope, we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have?It is very interesting how this birthing language is about a First Fruit feast correlation, the birth of a ‘child’. And of the time coinciding with the time of the Resurrection-Rapture event that will ‘birth’ us into our new Glorified Bodies? If one surmises the frequency and intensity of Earthquakes above a 7.0 so far, it will appear that the Earth is convulsing and about to give birth.So, will this suggested earthquake pattern reach a crescendo? Will it mirror the ‘Birth’ of the Saints, assuming a Rapture event on the near horizon? What one will be looking closely at the 3rd of the 3 First Fruit feasts, the New Oil. Could that be the season of feast where Jesus will be ‘anointing’ His Bride with the New Oil, prophetically speaking? So, are there examples of how earthquakes are associated with the celestial signs in the Heavens? Consider the following factors for 2026. As to the triple celestial sign occurring on August 12, 2026? Well, there were 10 earthquakes since January 1 that have led-up to this convergence that is significant in the following day counts.
-It was 30 days until September 11, 2026. (Eve of Yom Teruah or Feast of Trumpets.)
-It was 720 hours. (A fractal of 72 hours as in duration of Jesus in the grave.)
-It was the First Fruit of the New Oil, per one’s calculation.
-If we factor the last day of the Perseid Meteor Shower of August 13, 2026?
-It was 40 days until September 22, 2026.
-That was the eve of the end of the astronomical Summer, and the start of Autumn.
-That was the eve of the 9-year anniversary of the Revelation 12 Sign.
Consider the possible inference of 9 being equivalent to ‘9 months’ if one correlates a year-to-a-month correspondence. As it is depicted in the Revelation 12 Sign, the centerpiece or prophetic theme is about a Rapture, a birth of a Man-Child. Will it be about the ‘birth’ of the Bride of Christ?
