Hello John and Doves,
I've been seeing in the news reports of Ukrainian
drones going deep into Russia for attacks. This can't
bode will with the Russians.
There is a new movie called "The Brink of War" about
Reagan and Gorbachev's historic meeting in Iceland on
October 11/12, 1986 - they had met to discuss arms controls
between the U.S. and the USSR to bring an end to the threat
of nuclear war between the two countries.
Because....back in 1983, "The Soviets
were convinced the U.S. was planning a nuclear first
strike. And they were ready to preempt it."
In this letter I wrote about the newly
(2016) declassified 1990 'top secret' document about this
'near miss' of nuclear war between the US and USSR.
They said, we were 'lucky' it didn't happen! There
have been other 'near misses'. Maybe we won't be so
lucky in the future!
And I wrote about the world on the
brink, yet again, of nuclear war. Michael Snyder has
an article about this where he writes "..it appears we are
now closer to nuclear war than ever before." Hot
spots: Russia/Ukraine, Russia/Britain, Russia/US,
China/Taiwan, China/US, Iran/US, Iran/Israel....then add
North Korea/Japan, North Korea/Philippines. There
will be nowhere safe..IF, when this ignites.
I added some latest articles, dated
August 16 and 17 to show where the world stands with
various 'conflicts'.
And Iran is now threatening to go on
the offensive with attacks on the US and Israel if ALL of
their demands to the US are not met. I written
before that I believe Iran already has nuclear
warheads....
And some Russians are goading
Putin to nuke Britain. Hit the islands with their
Poseidon 'torpedo' that can cause a tsunami.
We were close in 1983...but its
probably very accurate to say...we are closer today - to
nuclear war breaking out 'somewhere'.
Declassified Top Secret Document:
"A newly declassified document reveals just how close
we came to nuclear Armageddon in the 1980s, under President
Ronald Reagan. The document is a top secret 1990
report by the President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory
Board. The report was obtained by the National
Security Archive at George Washington University, after a 12
year fight and released on Oct 24.''
"In 1983, we may have inadvertently placed our
relations with the Soviet Union on a hair trigger," the
report concluded. "Soviet leaders had changed their
strategic thinking and, in fact, believed that the US was
attempting to gain decisive strategic superiority in order,
possibly, to launch a nuclear first strike."
"In September 1983, a Soviet system malfunction
indicated US missiles were headed to the Soviet Union, and
only a doubting overnight officer stopped the Soviets from
launching retaliatory nuclear missiles."
"..this new document indicates that the Kremlin really
thought the US was planning a first strike on the Soviet
Union. What's more, they believed the US would in fact
do so as soon as the US reached a certain level of strategic
military superiority."
"The Soviets setup an automated, computerized
mechanism to determine 'objectively' if that was happening,
and to measure NATO's military readiness."
"But perhaps what's really scary was how the Soviet
leaders planned to respond, which would have been to launch
their own pre-emptive strike, if they saw what they
considered 'indicators' of NATO military preparations."
This declassified report "indicates the real clincher
was a large military exercise called 'Able Archer'.
This exercise took place every year, but in '83 things were
different. The exercise included a practice drill that
took NATO forces through a full-scale simulated release of
nuclear weapons, including equipping warplanes with
realistic dummy weapons that fooled Soviet spies. The
original scenario was also supposed to involved high-level
officials, including the secretary of defense and the
chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in major roles.
Even the President."
"So how close did it come? The document says
were were lucky: "As it happened the military officers
in charge of the Able Archer exercise minimized this risk by
doing nothing in the face of evidence that parts of the
Soviet armed forces were moving to an unusual level of
alert. But these officers acted out of instinct, not
informed guidance....The document concludes that US
intelligence severely miscalculated in assessing Soviet
reaction to the crisis."
Gorbachev said in February 1986 "Never, perhaps, in
the postwar decades has the situation in the world been as
explosive and, hence, more difficult and unfavorable as in
the first half of the 1980s."
"In terms of lessons for today, never assume you know
what your enemy is thinking."
"We Are Closer to Nuclear War Than Ever
Before":
This was on Michael Snyder's Substack August 16, 2026:
"In recent months, Russia and Ukraine have been
absolutely pummeling each other with long-range
strikes. The escalations that we have been witnessing
have been absolutely shocking, but the mainstream media in
the western world hasn't been giving these escalations the
attention that they deserve. On Saturday, hundreds of
long-range Ukrainian drones hit target sin the Moscow
region."
Michael asked, "If someone was hitting Washington D.C.
or New York City with long-range drones every night, what
would we do to them?" The Russians have shown great
restraint - being a nuclear powered country. "But they
are clearly running out of patience."
Of late, the Ukrainians have been targeting retail
warehouses...this is bringing the war closer to home for the
people. This is resulting in Russian media calling for
the "use of tactical nuclear weapons in Ukraine".
And Russia believes the US is "playing a far deeper
role in Ukrainian attacks on Russian territory...and against
civilian targets". They are awaiting a response from
the U.S.
China, according to President Zelensky, is trying to
talk Russia down from using nuclear weapons on Ukraine.
And then Iran is threatening that they have some
"strategic surprises" of their own. Iran said they
could become "offensive in the future".
The China is accusing Taiwan of 'stoking fears of war'
with their "10 days of drills simulating a potential Chinese
attack." If China attacked Taiwan, the US would enter
the war..."things could go nuclear very rapidly."
Michael wrote that "using nuclear weapons should be
absolutely unthinkable. Tens of millions would die in
the initial attacks, tens of millions would be injured and
tens of millions would later die of radiation poisoning and
tend of millions would die from the resulting "nuclear
winter". In all, 5 billion people or more could die of
hunger following full-scale nuclear war between Russia and
the US.
Michael wrote "We are playing with fire, and if we
aren't very careful our entire society is going to get
burned."

August 14 Taiwan Drill Ends:
Taiwan conducted a 10-day drill August 5 -
August 14.
The exercises scenario assumes "The People's
Liberation Army has completed preparations for an attack and
begun crossing the Taiwan Strait.."
"For the first time in the exercise's history, Taiwan
is also simulating mobile internet blackouts - testing the
island's ability to maintain command and control when
Beijing's cyberwarfare and electric warfare units cut
communications infrastructure."
"The Economist notes that Chinese coastguard vessels
have intensified patrols east of Taiwan since June - fueling
concern that Beijing is rehearsing how to seal off the
island from allied resupply before any formal military
action."
"The exercises also coincide with North Korea's Kim Yo
Jong issuing threats against Japan over Tokyo's
rearmament..."
"America's adversaries are
not operating in isolation; the coordinated nature of
pressure from Beijing, Pyongyang, and Moscow represents
the kind of multi-front strategic challenges the US
planners have long warned about and Washington's political
class has consistently failed to resource against."

Iranians Threaten To Go On
the Offensive:
Michael Snyder had another article in his substack
dated August 17, 2026:
Iran is making demands and it expects the US to comply
with every one of them. They have threatened to keep
the Strait of Hormuz closed through the rest of President
Trump's term.
"If
the Trump administration does not agree to all of Iran's
demands in a matter of weeks, Iran will go on the offensive
against the United States and Israel."
The
Iranians said their defensive posture will go 'fully
offensive' and "has given Washington several weeks to
implement a memorandum of understanding between the two sides,
a senior Iranian official told Reuters on Monday."
"Iran
gives the US an ultimatum of "3 - 4 weeks" to meet all of its
demands or it will "severely escalate in the Strait of Hormuz"
and launch its planned preemptive strike on US backed Guld
infrastructure and US and Israeli assets..."
The
US is to pay Iran "300 billion dollars in war reparations,
arrange for the release of all frozen Iranian assets,
permanently end the naval blockade, end fighting all fronts,
lift all sanctions and agree to permanent Iranian control of
the Strait of Hormuz."
Russia Threatens Britain
With Poseidon:
Then there is this:
On August 17, 2026:
"Vladimir Putin's leading TV attack dog called for a
nuclear strike on Britain in a chilling threat as World War
3 fears erupt. It comes following the revelation that
UK killer drones are now being used by Ukraine for strikes
deep inside Russia. Vladimir Solovyov also demanded
British arms factories should be hit and ships sunk that
carry weapons to Ukraine. "Hit them with Poseidon
(underwater nuclear drone)" he demanded in a primetime
broadcast on state TV. "Give the British three days to
learn to breathe underwater, then hit them with Poseidon."
"Last month, Putin claimed
the sinister weapon is nearing completion, and will be
ready to be deployed soon."
Final Thoughts:
So we can see that we are very close to something HUGE
happening...starting somewhere in the world. I can see
a chain reaction as one hot spot after the other ignites.
Does Iran hold all the cards?? Is the Trump
Administration in a grid lock with Iran?
It will be very interesting to see which way this
goes....Is Marjorie Taylor Greene right? Or will Iran
be the first to launch a nuclear weapon?
God sees man's folly. And deals with it.
Nothing will happen outside of His will.
How close to the Tribulation period are we now??
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!
Maranatha!
