"Earthquake Activity - 3 Day Intervals"

Hello John and Doves,

A few weeks ago I sent in a Doves letter on recent earthquakes.

I included a website that looks at earthquakes 'over the last 3 days'.  "The total number of quakes above magnitude 3 that occurred worldwide during the past 3 days was 67% more than usual or 1,058 total vs 633.8 average.

Both the number of quakes and the seismic activity are in the red on the meters.

Earthquake.USGS.Gov Site:

Today, August 15, I looked at this site again, to check out 'the last 3 days'.  Big difference from the last time I looked!

There is a "clear increase" in detected quakes during the last 3 days.  "Most notably there was a strong increase in larger quakes of magnitude 5+."

In the past 3 days, there have been worldwide 4,495 quakes of magnitudes up to 7.7

The "Worldwide Quake-O-Meter" is in the red:  this compares the number of quakes to the average.  The number of quakes on the meter is 1,058 which is a 67% increase!

The "Seismic Meter" is also in the red:  this compares seismic activity to the average.  The seismic activity is up 9%.

"The total number of quakes above magnitude 3 that occurred worldwide during the past 3 days was 67% more than usual or 1,058 total vs 633.8 average.

On August 14 there was a 7.7 earthquake in Indonesia.  There was a 5.2 in Spain.  Quakes in the last 24 hours have hit Alaska, Indonesia, Japan, Puerto Rico, Chile, California.....as usual - the world is rocking.

Average number was obtained from "100 preceding 3-day intervals."  That's 300 days.

The United States far out numbers any other country with total quakes.  So far, in 2026, the U.S. has had 68,181 quakes. (of magnitude 3 and above)  The city worldwide with the most quakes is Athens, Greece...followed by Acapulco de Juarez, Mexico.

This will be even more interesting if this trend continues!
