hebrew bible - Was the Jubilee Cycle 49 years or 50 years - Biblical Hermeneutics Stack Exchange
The year beginning Tishri 1407 was the year they entered the Promised Land, and the Spring of that year was 1406 BC. Forty years before that was 1446 BC which perfectly agrees with the date calculated by Valerius Coucke, and also with the independent calculations of Edwin Thiele and Rodger Young, all using the data in 1st and 2nd Kings, and a literal reading of 1 Kings 6v1. This would mean the counting for the Jubilee Cycle began the year the Israelites entered the Promised Land, and that the Jubilee Year was every 49 years.
Calculating the next Jubilee from entering the Promised Land in the fall of 1407 BC which make 1406 BC the first Spring. Jubilees are 49 years apart from the previous Jubilee and they are the year after, in other words counting the 50th year after 7 Shmita cycles are complete:
Spring 1406 BC = -1405 to compensate for skipping over zero in counting as no zero year
70 x 7 Shmita Cycles = 70 x 49 years = 3430
-1405 + 3430 = Spring 2025 AD for the 70 x 7 Shmita Cycles to be completed
Jubilee is the year after = Starting September 23-24, 2025
