John,
Did you know Vincent Tan, personally, as a friend or brother in the Lord?
Has he gone on to be with the Lord? Or is he still with us?
At the moment, I'm currently not doing engineering work, but rather, I am working in an oil field laboratory.
So, when I read, in Jim Bramlett's letter, which you linked to, that 30 years ago, Vincent worked in a laboratory, I was intrigued.
Is he still working in a laboratory?
While I was studying engineering, I also worked in a laboratory 2nd shift.
Before I was saved, I had an opposite kind of encounter in the lab at night, when I was alone.
There were maintenance people who used meet at night by our water tower, and had what they called services for Satan.
One of these fellows, who had extremely long fingernails, and a soft, but chilling voice, used to "show up" where I was.
I mean "show up".
There was no one in the lab, no one in the hallway, and no sounds of doors or footsteps.
Suddenly there would be wind blowing papers about, and the fluorescent lights would blink.
Then I would hear a scary sounding greeting, and he would be right behind me.
I was still lost, and a devote catholic, so I used to draw pictures of crosses, and write out words.
But they had zero effect upon him.
He said that they were planning to bring me to one of their services at the water tower in a few days.
There was a security officer who came by on his rounds once a night, who was saved and began praying for me, regarding that service.
Then, prior to that service, I had an explosion, which caused them to transfer me to the day shift.
The director of research said that he didn't know why he wasn't firing me.
Instead, he told me that he was going assign me to work for a chemist.
That if I left that man's side, except for lunch or breaks, that I would lose my job.
So, I stuck to him like glue.
However, this chemist had just also finished Bible college.
And what seemed to me at the time, was like every other sentence he said, were Bible verses.
I found out later that his mother told me that he would come home from work and pray for my salvation.
She said he would pray sometimes for 3 hours, just for the Lord to save me.
Although I argued with him much, the Lord answered his prayers.

Hi Gino, thanks for sharing your testimony and God's love for you. No, I do not know Vincent Tan personally. Also, I am not sure if he is still working or has retired. We are all getting old. :)
