Hello John and Doves,
FEMA will run out of
money within the month. And Congress is
dithering. Emergency money needed for Maui
is tied to funding Ukraine's relief and military needs.
Some Republicans have tried to block all of this 'war'
spending, but to no avail. There are just too many
warmongers in D.C.
For this administration and
Congress, the Ukraine war comes before Americans and
America. And both parties are responsible for this
mess. If FEMA doesn't have the money to help Maui,
this could certainly push landowners into selling their
land to the highest billionaire bidder - or to Jeff Bezos'
smart city or to the State of Hawaii. The estimated
losses in Maui could exceed $6 billion. And what
will insurance cover for these homeowners?
The Biden
administration, to 'help' with the FEMA shortfall has
requested Congress for $12 billion emergency relief BUT
it's tied to $24.1 billion in aid to Ukraine's military!
Americans in need shouldn't have to compete with the
Ukraine war. Yet that's where we are. This is
wrong on every level.
"As Hawaii struggled with the
aftermath of the wildfire that destroyed historic Lahaina
and displaced thousands of Maui residents, the state's
primary lifeline is the Federal Emergency Management
Agency....According to lawmakers in Washington, the
financially stressed agency, which has been called on for
numerous environmental catastrophes in recent years, is
expected to run out of money within the month."
..."The Biden administration
asked for the supplemental spending on Wednesday, the same
day the president also approved the disaster declaration
for Maui. But the effort to get speedy
appropriation has foundered after the Biden
administration sought $12 billion in emergency funding
that would extend disaster relief programs while
simultaneously requesting some $24.1 billion in military
spending for Ukraine in the same package."
"That means that funding
Hawaii's needs for Maui's recovery has been tied to
funding to back Ukraine's military...." Senator
Rubio spoke out against Biden's request - saying
"President Biden is holding Floridians, and other
Americans hostage by tying critical domestic disaster
relief to foreign military aid. He said he believed
that the Biden administration was using essential
disaster funding as a "bargaining chip" to get
additional unauthorized money for Ukraine."
U.S. Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-
Fla) (his H.R. 4295 Disaster Relief Fund Replenishment Act
back in June, 2023 and Sen. Rubio (R-Fla) (his S.2029
Disaster Relief Fund Replenishment Act introduced back in
June,2023) have legislation now to get more money for
disasters but these have gone nowhere. Probably
because Congress doesn't have any more money for America -
just for Ukraine.
Maybe tying the FEMA money to
supporting the Ukraine war will delay funding to Maui long
enough for people to cave in to the billionaire land
grabbers like Bezos and Oprah..or the State of
Hawaii. For 15 minute cities for the rich.
Maybe that's been the plan from the beginning - as they've
known for some time that FEMA was about to go broke.
This country is in such a
mess. Can't hang on to something that's falling
apart around us. Keep focused on your new Home -
Heaven!
