John and Doves,In the parable of the 5 wise virgins ofMatthew 25, we notice that all 10 virgins knew the daya*n*d the hour, as revealed in 1 Thessalonians 5:4.
I think the Lord loves us when we try to figure out when He is coming." I would that thou wert cold or hot." Rev. 3:15... meaning 'at least your eyes are focused on Me.'
Well, I'm going to go against my own standardsa*n*d try to see when He might come for us. Please keep in mind that this is just a thought.
E L U L is a special month of reflection and meditation that the Lord gives us to prepare our minds to be maturelysober in thought, and to warmly relate with the Lord before the spiritualNew Year of Rosh Hoshanna begins.
E L U L began on the evening of August 20th,last week.30 days later is Rosh Hoshanna.
Counting 10 more days
(Rev. 2:10, "You shall have tribulation 10 days")we come to September29th, the day after YomKippur and the High Holy Days.
This would give us 40 days of intense seeking the Lord with all our hearts. Those 40 days are considered the holiest days of the year, as we refine our relationship with the Lord."Be ye holy, for I am holy."1 Peter 1:16.
To my way of thinking, I would think that our Bridegroom would come for His Bride at this time, as we the Church are dressed in righteous white, without spot or wrinkle.Rev. 19: 7--9 and Ephesians 5:27.
What better time for us to prepare ourselves for the glories of heaven than toseek our Bridegroom with our whole heart during Elul and the High Holy Days..
Just a thought, and points to the season.
